Marry Me Mommy!

As we've been preparing for the impact of TS / Hurricane Isaac...I loaded the boys up to go get some supplies.  As we were leaving, Kyler saw this truck and HAD to ride it...

When he got off of it, he saw the wall of "bubble gum" machines.  He has always wanted a ring since Mommy and Daddy have them.  He saw one machine that had rings in it.  They were PACKED full of glittery pink, purple and red rings with just a few boys rings.  I gave him the quarter and as we're turning the dial, I'm hoping for a boy ring to drop.  As we pull out the small plastic cup and flip it over, his eyes lit up! Kyler turned to me and said "Marry Mommy Me".  It was so sweet.

Before we went shopping we stopped at Bob Evans for a special treat of me and my boys.  Kyler is growing up so much and wanting to learn so many things (which I love). But one of those includes wanting to use a knife to cut his own food.  Since it's a butter knife and he knows that you have to keep the teeth of the knife down, I decided to let him try it on his own.  The older couple at the table next to us were really impressed at his behavior and how great he was with the knife.  I received several compliments from them which made me a proud mommy.  He even buttered his own pancakes too.

Another big boy with his meal!  Kolton (very briefly) held his own bottle!  As much as I don't want him to grow up.. him holding his own bottle would be awesome for when we are in the car.

Kyler playing with his trains. He doesn't want his picture taken, but I snap a shot anyways.

MasterChef Kyler helping me prepare dinner. Yes, he's in his PJs as we just finished breakfast and were getting dinner ready to go in the crock. He's taking the seeds out of the bell peppers:

Mixing the ground turkey and all of the ingredients together.

Set it and forget it ~ I LOVE these type of meals. I poured Marinara sauce over it and left it to cook for several hours. It was de-lish!

Since my big boys are growing super fast. I was going through the next size clothes bins and happened to run across the hat and gloves Kyler wore for his first snow trip to Chicago when he was 4 months old.  I decided to try them on Kolton just for fun.  He's ready for his snow trip. HA!

"But Mommy, I can't chew on my fingers like this!"

One. Sweaty. Boy. (with cookies on his mouth). He went outside to "help" Daddy prepare for the impending hurricane by putting up shutters.

I LOVE that even though this big guy is cutting 4 teeth (yes at 3 months old.. 2 top; 2 bottom)..and has been fighting a horrible snotty nose and cold... he still wakes up a happy happy boy!

In The Moment

We haven't really had much going on the past week.  But I wanted to share some in the moment photos of my boys (and me).

I LOVE the huge smile on Kyler's face that he is getting to hold his brother.  I hope this love for him continues between these two:

Kyler wanted to feed Kolton...and as much as I love the bonding with me nursing; I am all about my boys bonding. So I obliged:

Kyler got his haircut the other day and he was SO excited to have the heat off his head....and she spiked it for him. That always makes him happy.  He is so handsome and BIG here.. why is he growing up?!:

Another happy boy who just learned how to laugh out loud last night.. be.still.my.heart!:

Watching Mommy get her haircut..and holding his bottle (briefly):

Kyler is learning to write his name at school:

Kolton loves his "lamby"..but he wants to chew on it and it sheds bad.. so I limit his playtime with it .. for now. He's teething and wants to chew it's ear off:

Sweet baby snuggle time.  You can't see him, but Kyler is on the other side of me snuggled up snoring away. I couldn't roll over to get his picture:

Yeaaaa.. "Mommy has only one chin now!" (oh wait, that's not what he was saying..or was it?!):

My new hair cut:

We've been having some neat storms in the mid afternoon early evenings. Now to just find that pot of gold at the end....

Breath taking:

Kyler stacked these all up by himself.  Amazed:

Kiesling Kowboys

Today is Cowboy day at daycare.  We didn't have a cowboy hat for Kyler so last night we went to Dollar Tree just to see if they might have had a kids play one.  They didn't.  But as we were rummaging around, Chris found this "adult man's straw hat" and there was ONE HAPPY 3 YEAR OLD. I put that in parentheses, as I don't know of any man that has a head that small, but that is what the tag called it.  It was a little tight on my head and almost fit Kyler:

He didn't want me putting his name in last night and I thought we were going to have issues with it this morning.  But he was up and out of bed and first thing out of this mouth "where's my hat?!".  He even picked out the shirt he wanted to wear today.  Since it is SO hot, I let him wear his boots with shorts (I used to do it with dresses, shorts, swimsuits.. back before it was the style).
He wasn't really awake here, but he was really excited and wanted me to take his picture (which he doesn't ever want me to do anymore):

Good Morning Tolky Bear was posing his "I'm sexy and I know it" look for his picture.  He's wearing one of the infant gowns so I put pants on under it.  The star says Cowboy and right above the monkey cowboy it says Yee-ha!:

He got to borrow Kyler's 1st cowboy hat:

A very happy now awake Kowboy posing next to his brother:

My Kowboys and me:

I'm SO stoked!  Got up this morning and put on a pair of jeans that I once (not too long ago) had to suck it in when I went to button.. and this morning they not only zipped right up (without me sucking in), but there is extra room. And when I went to put the belt on, it was on the last notch..and could really go about 2 more notches.  I love this picture. I look like I'm getting a figure again!!:

This was last night's storm brewing.  We've had them the past two nights which I love because it's at night time and makes for good sleeping weather:

Happy Birthday(s) and Anniversary

Today is my Grandparents Anniversary. Keeping them both in my thoughts today:

We miss you Grandpa...may you RIP:

It is also my brother's birthday:

Happy Birthday Bubba.. Hope you're day is extra special:

And 3 days ago, my Lil guy turned 3 months old.  STOP THE TIME!!!:

Mommy stealing some snuggle time:

Here's a glimpse of some of the other fun things we've been doing.
Big Brudder Mastered his bike riding!! He started off on the little trike and then told Daddy he wanted to ride his big boy bike, which he very rarely wants to do since we bought it for him.  He got on it and off he flew!

A sweaty headed handsome big brother:

Snuggle time..sorry it's blurry but I just love how Kyler has "taken Kolton under his wing" here:

Brother play time. Kolton sitting in an exer-saucer and LOVING it. He did awesome sitting up and I put the sheep in the to help support him and he ends up taking the sheep out to chew on and not needing the support:

In Kolton's crib bonding watching the fish, octopus, starfish and sea critters that the projector is playing:

He's such a happy boy!:

Water time! We went to a local park that has a couple of water parks inside of it for the boys to cool off.  Kyler sits on one of the gators that shoots water out and 2 girls run over to him.

Waiting on the pelican to drop water on him:

When we were done, I changed the boys into dry clothes for the ride home as I knew they would crash out.  Kolton was hungry and Kyler asked if he could give him a bottle so I could change. My big boy is growing up!  It was so sweet so I had to take a picture of my boys.

Home Depot has a kids workshop on the first Saturday of every month. I wanted to take Kyler so we loaded up and he was SO excited that he got to actually make something where HE could hammer. And he got this super cute apron with his name on it and after he completed his project, they gave him a pin to put on it. Every time he goes, he gets to add a pin to his collection.  Guess you know where you can find us every 1st Saturday of the month now:

Coloring his cork board.  He ended up getting a certificate which I put on the board and hung in his room:

Oh how can you not smile at these two?!  Big brother giving his baby kisses:

Kolton SO excited that his rocking chair is getting painted!  Kyler has a rocking chair and it was already painted red...which coincidentally his birthstone is red, so when we were trying to decide what color to paint Kolton's chair, we came up with green for his birthstone.  We had some green left over (that we recently discovered in the cleaned out garage) which worked perfectly.

Kyler wanted to paint his brother's chair:

Oh no! ~  Kyler's turning into the Incredible Hulk!:

I felt bad as the chair painting was my idea and I wanted to do it but I ended up inside feeding a hungry Lil guy who got a belly full and passed out on me so I stayed snuggling him while the big boys painted:

The finished, but still drying, project.  I plan on bringing it in and taking a picture of the boys sitting side by side in their rockers.  Hopefully my picture will turn out how I envision it:

And while we were in the garage, Daddy climbed up in the attic and brought down what was once Kyler's Jumparoo for Kolton to now enjoy.  The funny part is...Kyler saw it and asked "where's the monkey"?  My mind was blown as when Kyler was last in this jumaproo he was one..or just under. How does he remember the monkey??!!  But he's right!  The seat is a monkey and I had already had that washed and put up in Kolton's closet, so Kyler didn't even see it laying around to know.  We grabbed some Lysol cleaner and went to town and put it together and now we have One Happy Boy to be bouncing away! And yes, he is sitting up all by himself, nothing supporting him other than the seat itself..and his feet don't touch the ground yet, even on the lowest level.  All of those crunches he keeps doing it paying off!

Kolton looking at the parrot flying above his head that Kyler just swatted at and now thinking "I'll get you my pretty"!  LOL:
