Kyler's Art Work

I had picked Kyler up from school on Monday and his teacher was giving one of the other kids that was also being picked up a wind sock. Kyler had missed Friday from being out due to having Conjunctivitis. So he didn't get to make one. He was SO upset!! So Miss Ashley told him that she would let him go into the office with her the next day and pick out his special colors to make his very own. He didn't understand and 3 stores later, he was still sad. He woke up the next morning talking about it too.

When I picked him up Tuesday afternoon.. this is what I got! ONE HAPPY BOY!! And his wind sock:

They also worked on some other fun things. They have been finger painting and he made waves.. or the Beach as he calls it:

And the sun. They are working on learning their colors and he is doing an AWESOME job of it!:

His rainbow:

When he got home, he wanted to "pank" some more. Luckily I just happen to have these trucks on hand that I bought a week ago and he's been eyeballing them. We stripped him down and let him "pank" (how he says paint):

He was serious about it too:

Here is his "tie died" truck:

And the matching car:

He was SO proud of his art work, so I placed them in his room on the shelf.

Chris had to go to town to get some things for work, so Kyler and I got ready to go with. Kyler runs into his bathroom and comes out dressed like this! I'm so proud that even no socks, he at least got his boots on the right feet!:

Big Brother / Little Brother

I've been trying to find a Big Brother shirt for Kyler to wear to the baby shower next weekend. I haven't been successful. I did go online and buy one for him and a matching one for Kolton... but that is for the day of Kolton's birth. So it's reserved. Plus its a white shirt and since the shower is at a park, I could see it not being so white afterwards. HA!

So a girlfriend of mine and I were out shopping the other day and we found these iron on matching Big Brother / Little Brother "stickers"....and the idea was born! We found the onesie for Kolton but couldn't find a matching (or anywhere near close) green shirt for Kyler. I remembered that he had this brown shirt in the closet and hasn't even worn it. My kid looks great in brown, so I'm not sure why he hasn't. Anyways, the tires on the Bug are brown and if he gets the shirt dirty you wont be able to see it as much, so I thought it was Perfect. And since the "sticker" is green, it'll be perfect to wear to the Baby Shower on St Patty's Day (two birds, one stone)!

And yes Kolton got in on this picture ~~ he's kind of hard to hide right now HA~ Daddy sure is proud because both shirts have a green VW Bug on them. Boys and their toys.. HA!:

Big Brother's shirt:

Little Brother's Shirt:

I'm just a little scared he might not fit:

Zachary and Nikkisus (Nicholas) got gerbils a few weeks ago. The first time Kyler saw them HE. SQUEALED!!! He is warming up to them. But I love this picture of Aunt Sherry because she is laughing SO hard at Kyler who is screaming like a girl over the "rats".

He is getting better, he wanted to pet it and Aunt Sherry was trying to let him hold it:

She got the smaller one out and he was ok with that. He's holding this one with her help:

Color Week Plus

This week at Kyler's school has been color week. They were supposed to wear the color of that day. Kyler wore 2 out of the 4.. and he wasn't there on Friday.

Monday was Red Day.. I didn't know about color week until Monday night, so he didn't wear red. But he did come home with :

Tuesday was Orange Day.. I'm not sure what they were making or just exploring with finger paints:

Wednesday was Yellow Day. They made Fire Flies using their thumbs:

Thursday was Green Day.. and Aunt Sherry put in a request for whatever Green Day made as she needed some color added to her fridge. He gave her:

Friday was Blue Day. Kyler woke up with goopy eyes matted shut. I immediately thought Pink Eye, so I took him took him to the Dr instead of school. Dr confirmed he had pink eye and a sinus infection. Here is my Boo Bear feeling blue and wearing blue to support Color Week:

Just a few hours after getting the first dose of meds in him.. this is what happened:

His feet grew!!

He was feeling like himself again!:

My nephew Nikkisus (as Kyler calls him) (AKA Nicholas) mocking me. He did a pretty good job of it too:

Kolton's new onesie.. Love it.. and soo true:

New "Due" Date!

I met with my doctor yesterday for my 2 week check up..... as I was waddling down the hall going to the room, I heard "Oh my gosh you;re HUGE!". hahaha JUST what every woman (preggers or not) wants to hear.

As she made way into the exam room, we went over everything and she was able to feel Kolton as he was rolling and stretching and my belly was very deformed from his activity. She said that he is a big baby. EEEKKKK all I can say is THANK GOODNESS FOR A C-SECTION.

We talked some more and "tentatively" set a new "due date" of Friday, April 20th. YEEEEAAAAHHHHH

I go back in 2 weeks at which time we will do another Ultrasound to confirm Kolton's weight, growth and development. At that point if he is proven to be where she suspects him to be, we will go ahead and officially book the date! I am ready! But I want him developed and cooked just right too. So I will hold my discomfort off to ensure that he is where he needs to be.

I am excited to meet the lil (Ah-hem, Big Guy).

31 Weeks!!

31 Weeks!!! Just 8 more to go!!

Fetal Development:
Growth begins to slow a teeny bit, and the brain goes through a period of rapid development. The only major organ left to fully develop is the lungs. If your baby is a boy, his testes begin to descend from the body cavity to the scrotum

Maternal Changes:
Your abdomen may be aching frequently now as your uterus is stretching more and more. Your uterus is about 4 1/2 inches above your belly button with ten weeks to go.
As your baby's bones harden and grow, your
calcium needs are even greater. Be sure your diet is adequate in calcium, protein, iron and folic acid

Ideas for Dad:
It's the third trimester and now, more than ever,
Mom needs you. She may complain a lot with the growing discomforts of pregnancy. Listen to her with your undivided attention. Help her relax in the evening by rubbing her back and feet. (can someone please let Chris know about this??!!) We've talked about this in previous weeks but Mom just needs you to be there for her. As simple as this sounds, it can be difficult at times. Remember that doing what you can for Mom is also your first parenting steps for your child.

Bunchee Beach with Aunt Sandy

This weekend my Aunt Sandy flew in for a short visit. The last time she was here; Kolton was made. We teased that she started this and now that she's here, watch it end with her too. We went Friday to the Pioneer Park for Pioneer Days and then Saturday we hit the beach. It was a very windy day and took us Forever to get the BBQ grill cooking but we finally got it. It turned out to be an overall nice day and some of us came home a little redder than we should have (oops).. good thing we tan easily ;-D

Kyler and Gramma got things started while we were working on the grill:

He was pointing out a huge shrimp boat:

Wanting to go for a swim:

Week 30

That's right... we're at 30 weeks and going quickly. Just 9 more weeks to go till C-Section...if we go when it's scheduled. Although I have a feeling we'll be pulling him earlier.

Fetal Development: (and mom's commentary)

Our little one is nearly three pounds (or 5 if you measure mine) already and growing like a weed.
The early lanugo is disappearing, the eyelids open and close, and the toenails are growing (maybe that's the sharp pain I'm enduring). The bone marrow is now responsible for red blood cell production.

Maternal Changes: (and mom's commentary)
The best sleeping position for a pregnant woman is on her left side (sleep, what is that?). Your aorta and vena cava are slightly to the right of the center of your back, so laying/sleeping on your left side as much as possible ensures an unobstructed blood flow to your organs and extremities. You may be having some trouble sleeping now (YES, YES I AM for more reasons than one). Try one of the many maternity pillows or full-body pillows on the market. Sleeping in a recliner chair might also help (and oh how comfortable that is), especially when the heartburn gets nasty (oh we've been at the NASTY part of heartburn for 7 months now.. this kid is going to come out looking like a bear ~~ but he'll be my lil teddy bear).

And speaking of bear.. here are two pictures of the bassinet...

We are ready for this lil guy. When asking big brudder about Kolton, he'll mimic a baby crying and say, "I give him bottle; change his stinky poo-poo's; spank his hiney'. It's too cute! I'm so looking forward to having the two of them together.
