ARRGGGGG.... A Big Boy

Today is Pirate day at Kyler and Kolton's "school". Kyler was excited to get up and wear his Pirate (of the Caribbean) shirt.
He was saying "Arrrrrgggggg" here:

Believe it or not, Kolton even had an outfit to wear. I happened to find it when I was digging through a box of clothes that were given to us and thought it was cute. I remember thinking oh he'll never wear it though. I have a big boy and when he raises his arms it becomes a mid-drift on him. I still put him in it to partake in the festivities but also packed a changed of clothes (just in case).

The shot with him smiling he is also lifting his shirt and you can't see the pirate:

Look at the cute hiney shot:

Wednesday Kolton had his 2 month check up.  He is a big boy weighing in at 12 pounds 5 1/2 ounces; 24 1/4" long and a head circumference of 40.  He is in the 97%ile for his age group.. right up there where his big brother was. Kolton is bigger than Kyler was at this age which means I've got two football players I'm raising. Let me start working 4 part-time jobs in addition to my full time one just to be able to feed them. HA!  The Dr. said that we have a "happy, healthy, handsome, big boy". He was impressed with how alert he was and holding his head up to look around and follow him and the nurse when they were talking.  Some of the other nurses were also making comments about him and even said "he's the next president"!

My poor baby had to get shots :-(

Yesterday I kept both boys home with me and Kyler and I played trains for a while.  He built the majority of this track. There were only a few places he needed help with. Then we put "Tolky" in the center so he could "play" with us:
(I know I need to fix Kyler's name on the toy box where the other letters have fallen off)

And in case you haven't figured it out by now.. I'm totally in love with these two handsome guys:

Kyler's 3rd Birthday Party

Since I am going back to work, we had Kyler's birthday party a little early.  It's been so hot so we decided to have a pool party at Grandma Great's.  We had a great turn out and it was nice to get in the pool and relax with awesome friends and family.

Daddy and Papa Pat were the cooks... actually Papa Pat supervised ;-D

Let's eat:

A little relaxing by all (including Kolton) in the pool:
Cake time!:

Kyler getting ready to blow the candles out:

I just missed him blowing them out:

I LOVE that blue face... he was so happy with his cake and is still talking about it:

He opened a Thomas the Train chair (with double cup holders) from Uncle Tim, Aunt Tamara, Charleigh and Cagen.  Thank you guys, he will definitely be using this:

Thanks Dom! I see us playing basketball in the house REAL soon!:

Ooohhh Kyler, I think Mrs. Brandi and Austin know you way to well.. CAT bulldozer!:

Just in time Papa and Ooma...we have some fishing plans coming up!

Thanks Grandma Great! My favorite things all in one.. sand, water, boats and trucks!

And for the Big present.. Gramma, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa Kiesling all LOVE you Mr. Kyler. Here's your Monster Truck (with a real live working radio channel)!
And the boys are all off to a run for a spot on the truck:

All four boys piled in and took off:

Kyler taking the boys for a spin:
Kyler was awesome and let Dom drive:

The boys on the back are having fun too!:

Sadly, Cagen left and didn't get a turn to drive. And shortly after Dom left and Rylan showed up.

Stopping to give Gramma a HUGE thank you kiss:

Kyler, Ethan and Rylan:

Ethan's turn to drive. I love the look on his face, I can hear him squealing in excitement:

Rylan's turn to drive:

Kyler was so good with letting his buddies drive and share the fun. Not one argument or fight took place and they all had so much fun:
Back at home the next morning, we were digging into everything and putting it all together.

"Go fish me Momma" (translation, Momma, I want to go fishing):

  Kyler catching a big fish!:

Little brother playing on his mat:

Thanks Ethan, I love my Spiderman Mobile:

Outside for some fresh air and cruisin' the neighborhood with Dom. Both holding on for the crazy ride and right turn:

Double trouble!:

Handsome Squeaky Clean and Happy:

Hi Mommy, don't I look good in red?!:

Ha ha, you're washing your sheets and I took over your pillow:

Mommy's hardest day...first day of daycare for Kolton and Kyler going back. It was tough getting up so early (Kolton and me at 3am and Kyler at 5am). They are wearing their matching brother shirts.

Here's Kolton's shirt (says I'm the Little Brother with his name at the bottom):

Kyler's more awake now and I even got a few smiles from him:

This one does my heart so good!  Kolton smiling and talking to Kyler:

Smitten

I'm sitting here and all I can think about are my two boys.  Yep, you caught me... I am 100% completely smitten with these two:

Kyler: you make me laugh with your funny ways of saying / doing things:
  • "no drink me" (when you don't want a drink)
  • "no bath me" (when you don't want a bath)
  • night-night me (when you want us to snuggle with you for nap or bed time)
  • my personal favorite how you say Momma or Daddy at the end of every sentence... Me: "did you have fun at school (daycare)"  You: "yes Momma"... Me: "did you play with your friends?" You: "yes Momma"... Daddy: "do you want to ride your monster truck"... You: "Yes Daddy"
  • You call your "brudder" Tolk... you swapped the K and T.. it's cute and now we catch ourselves calling Kolt / Tolk
  • your smile is contagious and makes me melt
  • you swap the "l" in eyelashes to a "w" eyewashes
  • right now you are at the Spiderman stage and when we call you Kyler you correct us that you're Spiderman and you wrap us in your web you wrist throw at us.. we can do it but you say "no not doing right"
  • when you see a semi you make the sounds of the air brakes .. it never gets old
  • yesterday when I went back to work after being off and home with you boys you told me "no work you Momma". I sure wish I didn't have to work honey, cause I'd love nothing more than to stay home with you boys
This is a picture of you telling me about your first day in your new big boy classroom "Dolphins".  I can't believe you will be 3 next week.  Where has the time gone?  I am very proud of you and LOVE you to where no words can describe how much.  You'll always be Mommy's "Boo Bear" and Daddy's "Squeezie".

Kolton: you complete me.  The smile in this picture says it all.
  • You are such a happy content baby.  You have been THE BEST Surprise EVER!
  • You very rarely cry and if you do it doesn't last long at all...except the day I ate spicy food and it killed your stomach all that day..I'm sorry for that. It broke my heart that I made you go through that pain.
  • When I got home from work yesterday, you were asleep in the swing. I was giving Kyler some loving when you heard me and immediately woke up and started screaming. This was unlike you so I ran over to get you and as soon as I picked you up, you smiled at me and then sighed those ever so knee buckling cute baby sighs.  Yes, you have Mommy wrapped.. on all 10 fingers and toes. ;-D
  • You sleep good. You go to bed around 10 and wake up once during the night. When you wake up you don't cry, instead you wake up cooing and laughing. It's the best. It makes getting up at 3 AM worth it just to see that smile or hear you laugh.
  • When I brush your hair (yes what very little you have, I do brush) it tickles you and you giggle..so I keep brushing cause it makes me laugh watching you.
  • You are very alert and love watching your surroundings, taking everything in.  You've even started watching your brother's cartoons with him.  When he laughs, you laugh.
  • You only like to be in your bassinet when it's night time. You don't want to be in it during the daytime. For your day naps you either want to be held (shhh our secret, but Mommy prefers this one too) or to be in your bouncy seat.
  • You're not fond of bottles, this has been the most challenging thing this past week getting you ready for daycare. But even then it hasn't been hard as you don't cry, you just spit it out. The same with pacifiers.
  • When traveling in the car, you like to look at yourself in the mirror on your seat (the one so I can see you) and you'll talk and laugh at yourself.
  • You tolerate everything and anything your big brother does to you.. but let me put you on your tummy for tummy time and you would think I've taken food time away from  you or something.  You like to sleep on your belly but only if you are laying on your Daddy or My's chest or in your bassinet.
Tomorrow you go to your 2 month checkup. I'm dreading it as you will get your shots. But I'm looking forward to the next two days as I am off and will be getting tons of baby snuggle / cuddle time! I LOVE you to no end.  You will always be my "Tolk" and your Daddy's "Kolt 45".

I am one truly blessed girl that God chose ME to be both of you boys' Mommy.  Hugs, Love and Kisses!

Kolton's First Day of Daycare

Last night was a rough night, this morning was a rough morning.. I had to come back to work this morning and today is the first day of me being without Kolton since he was born. I was good, didn't cry, but I did tear up..just choked them back. It helped knowing they are both at the same daycare and Kyler is in the room across the hall from him and can check up on him.

I did just call and check on him and Kyler and they are both doing great!  whew  ;-D

Here are a few pictures I took this morning from my phone.  I have better pictures on my camera to be posted later once I can download them.

You can't see it here, but they have matching shirts on.  Kyler's says I'm the Big Brother with his name on the bottom and Kolton's says I'm the Little Brother with his name on the bottom.  They boy have two dogs (which at the time I had the shirts made, we had two dogs); a dump truck and a few other matching boy toys.

Kyler wasn't happy about getting up so early this morning

Kolton and Kyler laughing at each other.. love it:

Ms. Dee came over for a visit and Kyler had to take her for a spin in his new Monster Truck!  He is Mr. Big Stuff now that he has wheels!:

Trying to find a place to put those long legs.. ha

Awe, there we go :

Now it's brudder's turn:

I love that he's taking his brother "under his wing":

Checking out for cars:

More to come from his 3rd birthday party..stay tuned ;-D
