Catching Up

Well it's been a few weeks since my last post...I decided it was time that I get on the ball again. Sorry, the holidays are getting me; busy enjoying them rather than posting about them.

My handsome boy:

A few weeks ago we met with Gramma and Grandma/pa Great and had a picnic at Ft. Ogden Park. We took Kyler for a stroll, then he and Gramma swung and went down the slide. He was not feeling well this day, had just had his shots and started on Oatmeal Cereal..not sure which was making him not feel so good.

Last week I had my 32nd Birthday--MY VERY FAVORITE / BEST BIRTHDAY EVER as it is the first birthday for me being a Mommy! My Mom and Papa Pat came down and we all went to my Fav eats--Japanese Steakhouse. Kyler enjoyed the fire and watching the chef cook. He was so good at dinner. There was a couple and her parents that sat with us and they are expecting a little boy February 13th. So they were excited to share the table with lil man.

Kyler intrigued by the fire:

I'm so loved... For my birthday, I came home to a beautiful bouquet of roses from my husband and son; they also gave me a beautiful necklace that has two hearts one with a Ruby stone which is Kyler's birthstone. My mom and Papa Pat got me gift certificates to my Fav massage place--2 hours worth! Yeah ba-by! My brother and his family gave me a Pandora / Trollbeads bracelet with a "Mother" bead. I'm LOVING them all!!

The next day we went to my Mom's for Thanksgiving. I left work early to make it in time for dinner and missed Nick Lachey (yes "THE" Nick Lachey) and yes "THE" Vanessa Minnillo who stopped by the office; but that's ok because I was with my loved ones. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside under the carport and enjoyed each other's company. My sis-in-law and I were taking pictures and even managed to get one of us taking a picture of one another.

Kyler showing off his new outfit for our
upcoming trip:

We woke up Friday morning and even though I was running off of about 3 hours of sleep (my lil man developed his 1st cold and was so congested he couldn't breath), we still managed to go shopping and had a great time. Kyler got to meet Santa Claus and have his picture taken with him. We found some great deals on clothes for our trip coming up; including some winter boots and a the cutest hooded hat with matching mitts for Kyler. He looks so cute with it on, like a lil snow man...who knows, we may even see some snow!! And since lil man is now a big man and too big for his car seat..we bought him a Big Boy car seat. Don't fret, it's a Convertible car seat..which means he is still facing backwards and it ranges for size 5lbs to 100 lbs.

The Boys being silly:

1...2...3... Make a Funny Face.....

Kyler and his cousins had a ball visiting. We took all three for a walk in the wagon and the boys had fun playing and laughing with one another and BBug is such a big helper! She wanted to help feed Kyler his cereal and his bottle and of coarse help change his diaper. She would also help around the house with things including bringing in the groceries. She's getting to be such a big girl. She loves her Baby Kyler! She and I played "make-up" but don't tell her Daddy! I can't wait for the day when we can go get a manicure / pedicure together.
Would have been great had Kyler not been sleeping and
rather looking at the camera:

Buddy Roe was giving Kyler kisses:

Too bad Kyler is hiding or this would have been good!
It was another great weekend with my family.

Our Perfect Big Boy!

Today Kyler had his 4 month check up appointment with the Doctor. He had to get his yucky shots and cried for just a second, but by the time the nurse made it to the door, he was all smiles and giggles.

Kyler has graduated to an eatin' boy. He has been given the go ahead to start some oatmeal and wheat cereals. He has already been eating rice cereal. Daddy thinks this means he can have Fruit Loops or Lucky Charms. (Just kidding).

Our lil big man is now a whopping 15 pounds 5 ounces and 27 inches long. He is, per his doctor "off the charts" in the height percentile; 75th percentile for his weight and 50th percentile for his head. The Doctor said "He is PERFECT!" and we couldn't agree more!

Yummy Yumm-ola!!!

As our Big boy is growing his Dr. had mentioned that he will start Kyler on eating at his 4 month check up. Well that time has come as Kyler has his 4 month appointment on Friday, the 13th; of all days. So in order to prepare him for eating, we started him on his Rice Cereal that we've been mixing in his bottle and made it a little thicker and fed it to him.
First Bite:

Did he like it? You tell me!:

GIVE ME MORE!!!
(look at his eyes...like umm that's good stuff!!)

After he got his belly full of food, he got to have a bottle to wash it down and get ready for nite-nite.

Side note: His bib says: "I'm stuffed"
Needless to say he slept in the next morning and when he got up, he had some more cereal and Loved it! Ms. Donna (his daycare provider) was excited for him and couldn't wait to feed him at lunch today.
Now I'm curious to see what Friday will bring.....

Grandma's 80th Birthday Poem

Below is the poem that Grandma wrote for everyone Thanking us all for attending and providing her with a wonderful surprise birthday party.

(I'll have to include pictures later today).

I am so very,very happy
to see you here today!
It's a pleasure and an honor
to see loved ones here this way.

So, I thank you and love you
For this special day for me,
For being 80 on this day
Is quite a feat you see.

How much this means to me
Is more than I can say!
So, I'll just Thank You,
Thank You, Thank You,
for making this a Special Day!

Happy 80th Birthday Grandma!

I would like to wish my Grandma; Kyler's Great Grandma (AKA, "Grandma Grape") a Very Happy 80th Birthday this past November 1st!

Grandma and Grandpa Crosby:

Saturday before the Trick-or-Treaters came, mom and I was busy busy busy getting the food put together for a surprise birthday party for my Grandma. She had asked us to take her to Highlands Hammock, a FL State Park that we have been going to since I was in diapers myself. Mom had sent out and invitation to Grandma's brother and sisters to come join. She even sent some out to my aunts and uncle for them to join. One aunt flew in from TX on Saturday and surprised Grandma at her house, but didn't mention anything about Sunday.
Aunt Sandy and Kyler:

We had a GREAT turn out, all 3 of my Great Aunts and Great Uncle and some of their kids with their kids showed up. It was a mini-family reunion. We even had a raccoon family of 5 that decided they wanted to join our party.

Kyler spent most of his day in dream land:

The kids got to play on the playground...even the Big Kids.

Mom gave a Thank You speech for everyone showing up. Uncle Freddy gave Grace and Grandma read her own Birthday Poem that she wrote. It was very sweet and touching. (I'm waiting on a copy of it to include).

Grandma reading her poem:

After we ate the feast of yummy BBQ, then the cake, brownies and other goodies; we all went down to the catwalk to check out the alligators.

On our way to the catwalk:
BBug jumped down before the picture was taken
Isn't this pretty?

We only saw one gator and his head was hiding:

Since we were little, we have had our pictures taken in this tree...so now we have to carry on the tradition with Kyler. Both times he's been here, we have taken his picture in the tree (even when I was pregnant with him we did).

Gramma, Mommy and Kyler:
Another tradition:

All in all it was a GREAT day for a very special occasion and we all had a good time.
BBug LOVES her cousin. She was "babysitting" while we were packing up the picnic.
Kyler on the way home; yes he's striped down to his diaper.
It was hot and he got a heat rash.

Trick or Treat...

We started the weekend off with a little dinner out with Gramma and Papa Pat.

Kyler got his very 1st Halloween "Treat" from Ms. Donna, his daycare provider. Since he and Ethan are too young for candy she bought them Nemo books of learning colors. I thought that was really sweet of her.

Daddy's holding the book:

Then we passed candy out for the Trick-or-Treaters. We had a cute Pumpkin shirt with matching bib and socks for lil man...but it was TOO HOT, so we decided not to put him in it and rather let him be comfortable. We didn't even wear our shirts that we had.

We started off outside, until the mosquitos decided they wanted to have a treat of their own. So just a few minutes with them and we went inside. There was even a live brown bat that was outside mom's door that was trying to take advantage of the mosquitos and have a treat himself. Thankfully it wasn't on any of us.

Little did we know that Kyler had a Treat in store for us. While he was playing on his Baby Einstein mat, he decided to roll from his back to his stomach. And Mommy, Daddy and Gramma were all 3 there to see it! He was having such a good time with playing that kids were coming inside the house to see him.
