Kyler's Kitchen

My son...our chef...has developed a true love for cooking. It doesn't matter if I'm popping toast to cooking dinner..he HAS to have his chair right there helping.

Last night our kitchen turned into Kyler's Kitchen!

He just needed my assistance rather than me needing his. HA!

I'm SO scared that he's going to burn himself but he keeps reassuring me "hot...hot....hot".

I wanted to try something a little different last night and so we just "threw" together a few things and it came out SO good! I can't wait to make it again.

The Head Chef cooking our carrots:

We took canned carrots melted a little butter, added salt and pepper to taste and then added some cinnamon and honey. Wow were they good!

The chicken:

ok so it doesn't really look all that yumm at this point.. but oh let me tell you~! I first marinated the chicken in Italian dressing for a few hours. I melted a little butter, added Olive oil and the marinade then the chicken. I covered both sides with salt, pepper, Oregano, Basil, Cinnamon and cooked all the way through. After flipping the chicken, I took Mozzarella cheese sticks and cut them into circles and placed on top of the chicken and put the lid on the pan for the cheese to melt. It was mouth watering and melted in your mouth. SO YUMMM~OLA

The finished product:

And desert!:

... in the making:

Voila:

And just because his little PJS are SO cute...

Just the Two of Us

Today we were supposed to do something with Daddy, but he had to go into work. Ky-Ky was not happy about it either:

It was such a beautiful day and I didn't want to waste it by just being inside. So I loaded Kyler up and we headed back to the park we were at yesterday. He sure does love being in the water (in case I haven't already mentioned that):

We first played in water park portion we were at yesterday and then we walked over to the other one to check it out. This one was so much funner!

Kyler found this gator and had a blast playing on it:

He really liked riding it:

He would ride the gator and laugh at the kids next to him...

....because they would stand underneath this pelican and the FREEZING cold water would dump on them and when they screamed, he giggled:

Before heading home, Kyler got treated to....

...but when he saw what I had, he wanted that instead....

Don't you just love this face?

20 Months Old

Ok..so I'm a bad Mommy...I totally didn't post anything on Kyler's 20 Month Birthday...oops. SO.........

~~Happy 20 Months Old Mr. Kyler!

You are such a great Big Boy. I don't think I can get away with calling you my baby anymore....mister I am now wearing some 3T clothes. (ugh) You not only look taller or (older) than you are but you act it too. You are such a happy little guy and we are all so blessed to have you in our lives.

You very seldom cry...mainly if you're over tired. You wake up either talking to yourself or laughing and I LOVE hearing that come across the monitor. You still sleep the whole night unless you're sick, but even then you do pretty good. You sleep in a big boy bed, a Thomas the Train toddler bed. You will NOT get out of it when you're up unless we are standing in your doorway. I keep waiting for the day when I'll hear the pitter patter of your feet running to our room for snuggle time.

Snuggle time is a Must have every morning. I LOVE that and am eating it up now as I know soon enough..you'll want nothing to do with it. It's dark when snuggle time begins and most mornings, Daddy is already at work but you now come in and say "ssssss da-da seeep" .... (shhhh daddy's asleep). It's too cute!

You're starting to talk and use sentences, not just words. Your favorite words are TRUCK, Airplane, BIG MOON or Boon as you also call the moon, stars, flag and if you see any of the above, you look at us and say "did you see it?" Just yesterday you learned a little girls name that you go to daycare with. We were at her birthday party and you kept saying Olivia and did very good with it.

I'm somewhat excited as you are learning when you go potty now. I can be in the middle of changing your diaper, signing Happy Birthday (to Olivia), or just doing normal everyday things and you will get a funny look on your face and say "uh-oh...Poo-poo", even if it's just pee-pee. But I'm excited that you're starting to know when you have to go potty...this means diapers will soon be gone! The part I'm not looking forward to is the potty training and the never ending "uh-ohs" you boys tend to have ;-)

You absolutely LOVE helping cook. We've been trying to find meals that are somewhat easier for you to help with. It's so fun having you with us in the kitchen. You know when it's time to start and you go and get your chair and push it over and if we aren't quick enough, you're trying to climb it. Speaking of climbing...yes onto everything. You're a true boy! You've finally mastered climbing onto our couch. Ours seems to be taller than everyone elses as you've already been all over Gramma's and Great Grandma's and Aunt Sherry and Uncle Kevin's...but ours you've finally accomplished. Kady isn't so happy about that. Now she doesn't have a "safe place" from you except outside.

You also love helping load and unload the dishwasher, doing laundry is another huge favorite. You get your little step stool out and I'll hand you the clothes and you'll drop them in the washer. When it comes time to put the clothes in the dryer, you don't miss a beat being right there getting the clothes. And your favorite part of the washer and dryer and getting the push the buttons. You know exactly which ones to push and in the correct order. Your most favorite part of the laundry...the empty basket! You love riding in it. Even if we aren't doing laundry and there are clothes in it, you empty it out and climb in.....

Vacuuming...another favorite of yours. You do a great job of it too. You could spend hours vacuuming the house...and you go all around to each room. You don't like it when the cord gets too short and you have to stop. I'm taking this all in as when the day comes you realize it's no longer fun but rather a chore, I know I'm going to miss these days.

You love anything and everything to do with outdoors! From watching the "boon", swinging on your swing set, playing in the sandbox, dancing in the rain with Mommy, chasing Kady, riding your bike, tractor or motorcycle. We have a hard time getting you inside a lot of days...even if we've just spent hours on end outside. But I wouldn't trade that time for anything.

You are our little water bug. You could go from just taking a bath and hear one of us taking a shower and you will run in completely clothed and jump right in the shower. If you shower with one of us, you push us out of the water so you can hog it all.

You are our miracle and an absolute true blessing and we Love you SO MUCH. Everyday is a true blessing having you in our lives.

Baseball, Birthdays and Ballparks

This has been a great weekend (thus far). It started with Friday me getting Kyler from daycare and he was sporting his St. Patrick's Day hat that he made the day before.

The cutest Leprechaun EVER!:

Ok so I couldn't decide which one was the cutest to post...

Chris had to work, so it was just Kyler and me for dinner. I didn't want to cook anything huge and Kyler LOVES to help cook....so we made chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese and sweet peas. I like to mix it up into a "casserole" so-to-speak and Kyler loves it too. Chris isn't a huge fan of it..so we made it for us.

My chef stirring the boiling water...HA! I love him getting on his tip-toes...:

Getting into his cooking now.. he sure does love it:

Today was a busy fun day for us! We went and saw a friend of mines son play an inning of baseball. He hit the ball and did awesome playing 2nd base. I was sad that we didn't get to stay longer. I do promise to go another game and watch the whole game!

We left early as we had to head for a birthday party. Kyler's 'lil girlfriend' had her 1st birthday party. (I can't believe she's already one) UGH!! AND the BEST part...he learned to say her name today. So sweet!

Kyler and the birthday girl, Olivia. Isn't she cute?!:

My kid and water....even though it was FREEZING cold water:

Not sure...can you tell by the smile if he's loving it?:

Going thru the tunnel:

Bam! right in the face:

After the party was over, we headed home for a nap as we had a late night (for him) planned. Free Movie in the Park night! Every few months the city puts on a free movie in the park and they do different movies at different parks. Tonight's movie was at a baseball field and the movie was The Sandlot. There were a huge group of us supposed to get together, but when it came down to it..the slackers didn't show. So there ended up being Kyler and me; my sister-in-law and the boys; and two girls that I work with and their kids.

My SIL and nephews and Kyler...eating Subway:

Kyler munching down:

And the show begins........ (it got better as it got darker):

JoAnna with her son Giovanni; and Morgan with her girls Dakota and Kali:

Kyler and his Mommy (or as he calls me...Ba-Ma):

Kyler was ALL about the "boon" and it was really neat...tonight it was the closest its been to Earth..this isn't a really good picture of it. It looks really small here but it was HUGE and orange and really pretty:

Other than my back killing me from sitting on the ground, it was an Awesome time and I'm looking forward to the next one.

A Day at the Beach

I kept Kyler home from daycare today. He had a really rough night last night and we needed some mommy / son time.

When we got up this morning, he wanted to help make eggs and sausage:

We played around the house this morning and after his nap, we headed to the beach!! It did us both a lot of good to get some fresh air.

Was my boy in Heaven or what?! There were SO many boats, birds, fish and dolphins to gander at. When we first got to the yacht club, we walked down the pier and hand lunch on the benches and watched the people fish and the dolphins swim and ALL the boats pass us by.

Kyler eating a cheeseburger and watching boats:

Then we went to the beach and went in the Freezing cold water. Kyler walked in all the way up to his chest and kept pulling my hand to take him deeper but I wouldn't. His poor chin was quivering and he was having a blast splashing and kicking up the water. He REFUSED to have anything to do with this raft this time. He wanted to be on his own and be a big boy.

After playing around in the cold water for a while, we headed to the playground where it was covered with kids. He swung next to a pretty little girl and then we went for the slides:

I think Kyler is 9 months preggers here.. hahaha:

After playing on the slides for some time, I took Kyler and the stroller and all our stuff back to the car. I changed Ky and we left the stroller and bags in the car and headed back to the pier to watch the boats.

Kyler found a really huge boat that we had to stop and stare at:

Making sure I saw the big boat:

Mommy and Me:

Look how pretty it was:

Kyler really liked this house and the boat:

Once we got home we had to ride bikes:

Then headed for the back yard and played in the sandbox:

Ky waiting to take a shower:

The most handsome little doggie ever!:
