Kyler's 1st Birthday Party

The weather was great...hot but great. We were fearing the trenchal downpours from Tropical Storm Bonnie. But they moved through the day before and left us with a hot great summer day.

The morning of the party while I was getting a shower, Daddy and Kyler got to have snuggle time.

Isn't it sweet, they are holding hands?!

Sadly Gramma got cut out of this one. But it's a good one of her and her Grandbabies:

Gramma decided to take the boys for a stroll in the wagon. She was trying to get them to take a nap before everyone got there.

Kyler's 1 Year Checkup

Today Kyler had his 1 year checkup. When the doctor walked in she was floored that he was only 12 months old. She swore an 18 month old was sitting there in front of her.

The visit went well, even though he had to get 3 shots..one was the chicken pox vaccine and he was NOT liking them at all! Poor guy.

He is in the 65%ile for his weight at 23 lbs 9 oz and has blown the charts out of the water (per his Dr) at 32 inches.

She had asked if he was saying anything and I said just BAW for ball but he recognizes everyone when talking about them or when asking him to go get an object, he'll go get it. But as she was leaving he waved AND SAID bye-bye...like it was nothing. He's said it a few times since then too. I was so happy! She said, "see Mom, he knows what he's doing".

Afterwards, I took him to McDonald's for a special treat and got him a kids ice cream. He loved it!

~And just a few catch up shots~

Here is Kyler in his Big Boy Highchair. He thinks he's big stuff sitting in it. He no longer likes the regular highchair. He sits in one like this at Ms. Donna's:

Rain, Rain Go Away...

Rain, Rain, Go AWAY...DO NOT come on Saturday...

...and if you do, please make it late afternoon.

We are planning our sons 1st birthday party for this weekend and wouldn't you know it..we are having a Tropical Storm headed our way. The fore casted weather reports states this weekend to have scattered Thunderstorms. Yeah, fantastic. I know we need the rain..but could it hold off for just a little while on Saturday? Please!

If you're coming to the party.. all I can say is that it may end up being a big wet t-shirt contest! As long as there is no lightening, we will be there splashing in the puddles! After all, its just water, right?!

Anyways, on to a brighter more cheery note, because of the storm coming in last night there was a really nice breeze. So we loaded Squeezy up in to his wagon and leashed up the dog and hit the neighbor for a nice walk. Kady wore herself out pulling so was so excited, so Kyler (and Daddy) got to walk her while I pulled the wagon.

As we rounded the corner to head home, I spotted a rabbit in our neighbors yard. So I unloaded Kyler and took him to see the rabbit. We stayed our distance since I am extremely allergic of rabbits. He didn't see it at first, so I got to get a picture from my camera. But as I got closer it hopped and then he was excited to see it.

I couldn't help but the wonder if this was one of the two babies that was in our yard last spring when I was pregnant. We had a mommy rabbit with her two babies and a Dove lay eggs in a plant on our lanai..she also had twins. There for a while I was "scared" that Kyler was going to be a twin and even started picking out names just in case there was another one cooking. HA!

Kyler's 1st Haircut

We decided tonight was the night for Kyler to get his haircut, so we loaded up and headed to SportClips. I've been pushing it back and holding off as long as possible because I wanted to keep the "Uncle Bob's" for as long as possible.

We call the curls in the back of his head Uncle Bob's because his Uncle Bob has curly hair. It's too cute.

Before the haircut, waiting in the lobby:

Trying to get a shot of the Uncle Bob's:

Jennifer was wetting his hair with a water bottle:

Awe so handsome!:

Some of the hair she cut off:

All done!:

And Kyler even got a certificate:

Jennifer (the girl who cut his hair) said that he was THE BEST first hair cut that she has ever had. He was happy, didn't cry and sat like a really big boy. The other girl that was cutting hair was very pleased with him as well and couldn't stop complimenting on him. I'm a very proud Mommy!
