Sick Lil Man

Kyler is not feeling so well today. I ended up taking him to the doctor today and Lil Man not only is fighting a fever (currently 102.2 degrees), he also is batteling a viral infection (all stuffy and can't breath) plus he has a "really bad ear infection" per the Dr. ~And~ if that wasn't enough, he has on top of everything else pink eye in BOTH eyes.

Kyler woke up with both eyes matted shut...poor guy:

Kyler playing in my shoes after he woke up this morning:

I had just given him his medicines and was trying to get him calmed down. Doesn't this look just break your heart?:

I LOVE this snoogle time, but HATE that he is not feeling well:

On a side note... he said "Lyler" today!

Mommy Moments....

I have had another proud (but sad) Mommy Moment. Last night Kyler was holding a picture and I asked him if he could say picture and without skipping a beat, he did! It was very clear and Chris and I both couldn't believe our ears. It wasn't very much longer afterwards that he was going thru all the words he knew.

I captured a little video of him saying some of them but for some reason I cannot get it to download... so....

Here are the words Kyler knows thus far: Da-Da (and Screams it out of excitement when he sees him first in the morning or coming home from work); Kady (his doggie); doggie; kitty; down; door (which is THE CUTEST because it's soo southern and he says it "doe"); dank-due (thank you); juice (which is what he calls everything to drink- milk, juice, water etc); please; picture; fishy; ball

Kyler giving his horsie "oh sweet baby":

Just this morning, I woke up to hearing "Down!". Kyler has a toddler bed that is close to the floor. But he will not get out of it unless we are in there with him or if his door is open. So I walked into his room, he held his arms out and said "down" again. I corrected him and told him he wanted "up" since he was holding his arms out.

A short while later, we went in to brush his teeth and he was pointing at his toothbrush for me to hand it to him. I said, "say please" and he did! I'm very proud, but sad too (my "baby" is growing up!)

He even knows how to drill the screws up and down:

First Hockey Game

This weekend Chris and I took Kyler and my mom to see their first hockey game! I was soo excited! I love hockey! Especially the fights. I know, that's not right. But come on, you love it for the fights too.. HA!

We started off going to the charity hockey game where the local firefighters played the local law enforcement. It was a good game ~ and the firemen won! Woop woop.. Although I can't play favorites since I work for them both.

Here are a few shots from that game:

The goalie blocking the shot!:

Kyler was having a blast!:

We got to sit down in the front row at the charity game!:

Stealing food from his Daddy:

Tearing up his hot dog:

Gramma and Kyler intensely watching the game..learning:

Gramma and Kyler finally looking at me rather than the game... HA!:

After the charity game, we had a couple of hours to kill, so we went and had dinner. Then headed back for the Everblades to play! I didn't get any shots of them playing and worst of all NONE of the fights. But in the 1st 3 minutes of the game there was an awesome fight and shortly after that there was another HUGE fight where both teams cleared the bench to be involved in! It was AWESOME! Hockey sticks broken; mouth guards flying; fists punching; and blood splattering! They even had to stop playing long enough for the cleaning crew to come out and clean up the blood. I should have grabbed my camera, but I didn't. Two team members from the opponents were kicked out of the game in addition, one was carried out due to injuries from fight.

Here is Gramma and Kyler engrossed in the Everblades game:

Kyler giving Gramma "Oh Sweet Baby"!:

A self shot of Chris and I (this is in honor of my SIL, Sherry) haha:

We stayed until the 2nd quarter and then headed out. Kyler had fallen asleep, Chris was tired (from all the crazy hours he's been working) and Gramma wasn't feeling well still. Mom caught this picture of us as we were leaving:

Yes, Kyler had his binky in on this shot, but he had just fallen asleep and only had it for about 10 minutes this entire weekend. We let him have it at the game, as he was tired and out of his element. He did SO good this weekend without the binky and he had a BLAST at the hockey game. He would dance when they played the music and when a score was made, he would clap and smile really big. He's totally a mommy jr with that!

The next morning, Kyler was telling Gramma that he had the car keys and was ready to get into trouble..HA!:

Here are a few other pictures from this week / weekend, not related to hockey.

Kyler LOVES this horse! Just incase you couldn't tell by that grin!:

Too stinkin' cute!:

Riding again and watching his tv show:

This was the day of his 18 month well check up. We had just gotten back from the Dr's office. Looks like he's saying.. What Now Mom?! HaHa:

Detox Complete

Kyler started his baby detox from pacifiers this weekend. Friday night, went down without even asking for it ~and~ he went down early. He woke up a few hours later when he hit his head on his bed and when he was calmed down, he wanted a paci then. He walked into the kitchen and stood in front of the cabinet where we kept them and pointed. I picked him up and showed him that they weren't in there anymore, so he walked back down the hall and climbed back in bed and went to sleep-- without one.

On Saturday, he took his nap without one and didn't even ask or go to the cabinet for it. I was very proud. We went to the hockey game (another post coming) and he did so great! There was a brief period where I let Kyler have his paci as he was out of his element and he was tired. It wasn't very long after that he fell asleep. We left shortly after and he went to bed without it.

He again, today went down for his nap without one and I think it's safe to say that Kyler's Detox is now complete! ;-D

~Another very proud Mommy moment, but also another sad that my "baby" is growing up moment.

Wish Us Luck...

This weekend is my long weekend home. So I decided that it was time that Kyler lose his paci. He only takes it for nap and bed time. But the past few night I've come home and checked on him and he didn't even have it near him. I didn't cut them yet or toss them out. But I wrapped them in a plastic baggie and hid them out of the kitchen. It's a first attempt and if it doesn't work well "cold turkey", then we'll cut them and work our way down.

I'm hoping that this will work and once gone, influence his speech and ability to talk. And No, I'm not trying to rush him, I just want to help him develop.

A Day at the Docs

Today Kyler had 2 doctor appointment.

This morning was his First dentist appointment. When we walked in the doors, Kyler found a little girl that was about 7 or 8 and he walked over to her and gave her a book. She took it, sat on the floor with him and started reading it. He was taken with her and so was I... I want her for a big sister for him!

As I was checking in, I looked up and saw this:

Once he was called to the back, he flirted with every one of the nurses or staff members there. He would take off down the hall finding more...we were waiting on the dentist to get there so it was ok that he wasn't confined to his room. Then the dentist looked in his mouth (with Kyler sitting in my lap) and counted how many teeth he had. He has a whopping 16 teeth! Wow. I didn't think his mouth was that big..hahaha. The dentist said that there are no markings, scaring, or any "sugar wounds" and that his teeth looked healthy. He does have a slight problem of not having any space between his teeth which could cause issues when his adult teeth start coming in. They may get over crowded but said we will cross that bridge later and said all was great. He did tell me to work on losing the paci..which Kyler only gets when he's going down for a nap or to sleep at night time..and we've already been working on getting rid of them.

We came home, had some lunch and then took a nap before his next appointment:

We went for his 18 month well check up and I was very pleased to learn...NO SHOTS! He flirted with his nurse and doctor there and kept showing his belly. He was pleased when the doctor kept tickling it.

He is a whopping 26 pounds 10 oz and 33 inches tall. He is still OFF the charts in height and weight and she said once again that he is "Perfect"! We still couldn't agree more. She said that he is developing very well and no need to be concerned over anything and to keep loving him (oh tough job for us to do HA) and keep doing what we're doing! He doesn't have to come back now for 6 months! Woot~Woot!

And here are a few other fun pictures just to enjoy!:

The other day I went shopping to buy me some new underwear and each time I would put them in the cart, Kyler would turn around and dig them out and stick them around his neck. The funny (or embarrassing) part was we were in the main isle and he was giggling so hard that he was getting the other customers to come out and see what was going on. Oh yeah, then they would come over and talk to him and make even more of a scene. I think all of the town learned that day just what type of underwear I wear. HA!

I came home from work the other night and had dinner with my boys. As I was getting ready to leave to head back to work, Kyler decided to help me and "unlock" the door with my keys. Thankfully that doesn't work, but smart boy!:

Look how handsome he is eating!:

Kyler was kissing Kyler in the mirror. Thankfully I had my phone in my hand at that moment to capture this:

Another handsome boy eating!:

18 Months Old

Today, our baby boy is 18 Months Old!! That's a year and 6 months! WHERE has the time gone?

Our Lil Man: You are the highlight of each day. We live to see your smile, hear your giggle, feel your cuddles / snuggles, receive your kisses, watch you learn and grow and to be your parents.

THINGS YOU...

LOVE: firetrucks, motorcycles, airplanes, balls, swinging, bike riding, wagon rides, chasing Kady (your doggie), being outdoors, reading (us reading to you), cooking, pulling things behind you, and riding your new rocking horse

LOVE TO EAT: Anything and everything. There are only 2 things that we have found thus far that you do not like...olives and cole slaw. Every morning you love to eat fruit, yogurt and cinnamon bread. Your favorite snacks are grapes and cheese sticks.

ARE LEARNING TO SAY: Da-Da, Uh-Oh, Kady, kitty, doggie, door (which is too cute as it's southern and sounds like "doe"), "dank due" (which is Thank You), juice, ball

ARE LEARNING TO DO: ride a bike, talk, point at pictures or things as we name them

You have learned so much and I love watching you explore and learn more. Just this morning you pulled out one of your favorite picture books and were pointing at the pictures as I asked you what each one was.

This weekend you saw a cat and ran over to it yelling KITTY! You LOVE to pull up your shirt to show your belly so that people will tickle it and you even love pulling up our shirts to tickle our belly (yes, even in public ~ fantastic!) HA. You love your dog Kady.

After your night time bath and your pjs are on, you come in to get rocked by both Mommy then Daddy and then you want Daddy to walk down the hall and put you to bed. You carry your blankey and your bear and it's too cute watching your little butt shake as you scoot down the hall with a big smile on your face. You sleep the whole night unless your sick. You go to be between 8-8:30 and wake up around 7.

You wear 2T-3T clothes and size 6 shoes. You love to brush your teeth and every time you see us brushing ours, you want to brush yours. We try to make it fun and do a little song with our mouth while brushing..you love it.

You're a Flirt and know you're a hamm. You love getting the attention from the ladies.

These past 18 months have been such a Wonderful Blessing. I cannot express how much of a joy you are and have brought to our lives. We Love You!

Riding Out!

This weekend Kyler went to visit his Gramma since Chris and I both had to work. He was picked up by her and my nephew Buddy Roe. When I called to make sure they had made it back to her house ok, I could hear two boys giggling in the background. And when I called after that, I could hear the excitement in my Mom's voice. She was soo happy to have both boys with her this weekend.

A HUGE Thank you to my brother and sister-in-law..as not only did having Buddy Roe there this weekend make two happy boys.. but the horse he got to come home with has Really made One Happy Boy!

Not sure what he is pointing at, but this must be his "8 Second Stance" as he did it several times:

Riding OUT! But not missing a moment watching football either (his 1st love):

Yeah, I'm not sure if he really likes this thing or not...

Weren't you able to hear that squeal of excitement from your house?! HA:

Pay It Forward 2011...

My SIL posted a Pay It Forward 2011 on her Face Book status. The rules are the 1st 5 people to leave a comment get something homemade from that person who posted the status. But in return you have to post the same status and make something for the 1st 5 people who respond on your status.. so forth and so on.

Thus far, I've only had 2 people reply. And since I'm still getting my feet wet in the crafting department, I decided to paint some picture frames. I went to Michael's and bought two wooden picture frames then painted and decorated them.

The butterfly on this one was already painted. I looked for one that wasn't so I could "attempt" it myself, but wasn't able to find anything. So I painted the frame and the flower and hot glued it and the butterfly onto the frame. The girl receiving this frame has 2 little girls herself that I can just "picture" being in this frame!:

The next frame I did was a Camo one. The girl receiving this frame is ALL ABOUT CAMO! This was my first attempt at doing camo and I think overall it turned out ok.

I decided it needed a little something extra, so I added sticks. I was going to add some moss and leaves, but didn't want to over do it.

I will continue the Pay It Forward 2011 status onto my Blog. And the first 5 people that respond, will get something made from me as well. No, I don't just do picture frames. It depends on whatever sweeps thru my mind at that time when I picture the person receiving it.

Looking Forward To.....

As I sit here at work thinking about my Lil Man, I'm also thinking about the things that I'm looking forward to (whether I'll admit to them or not) this year with him.

On Thursday, Kyler will have his first dentist appointment. He LOVES brushing his teeth, so I'm not concerned with that. I just hope he doesn't bite the dentist like he does when we look in his mouth. We've been trying to get him used to people looking in there and messing with his teeth. But they have the cool tools that we don't.

This weekend Kyler gets to have his 2nd slumber party with Gramma. This time his cousin Buddy Roe gets to join them! They are going to wear Gramma down. She'll need her sleep on Sunday. This is the 2nd time that I'll be away from him since he was born. The 1st time was also at Gramma's house the night he turned 1.

Then next week he will be 18 Months Old..that's a year and a half old! WHAT?~ already! Then a "short" 6 months later he will be 2 Years Old.. wait..what am I doing to myself. HAHA So I guess this means that we'll have to start thinking about where to have his 2nd birthday party and yes this year where ever it is..it'll be INSIDE so we're not melting everywhere.

He is getting to go to his very 1st hockey game next weekend! He and my Mom have not been to one yet and I'm really hoping they both enjoy it. This one is extra special as its cops vs firemen in the opening and the proceeds are going for a great cause.

I'm looking forward to us going to Sea World and Busch Gardens (a vacation trip we got from my Mommy for Christmas--THANK YOU!!). And we might as well throw in Disney World, because I've been wanting to take Chris there for so long since he's NEVER been!

I'm also looking forward to taking Kyler to swim lessons. I know the water bug should have gotten them last year, but he will definitely get them this year. He LOVES swimming and bath time -- anything to do with the water.

For myself, I have joined the gym at work and I have all plans to become a better/ happier/ healthier me! In return a better me = a better Mommy/ wife/ daughter/ co-worker/ friend/ sister- SIL.

I am looking forward to watching my Lil Man learn and grow (even if I don't want him to) and develop into his own self..what will he like / dislike, what will be his favorite TV shows or cartoon character, favorite book(s) to read (he loves soo many of them now), will his favorite foods change or stay the same, what will he start saying and wanting more of, which will be his favorite toys, etc.

I look forward to more family time and all the fun stuff this year will bring!

~Lots of Love to my Lil Man.

Zachary is 9 Years Old

This weekend we attended my nephew's 9 year old birthday party. He actually turned 9 on the 1st but my wonderful SIL held the party off so that I could attend. But with Chris back to work, he ended up missing it.

Kyler and I went over early Saturday morning and helped my SIL Sherry make Zachary's Lego cake. The chocolate cake didn't want to cooperate with us spreading the icing. The vanilla cake did really well with it. After a while, we got fed up with it and just let it be the way it was. I think it came out pretty good...and it tasted really good! (that's what matters anyways, right?! HA)

The finished product:

And it couldn't have been that bad, as it was DE-VOURED!:

There were 12 kids total. Kyler was the youngest but he ran with the bigger boys like it was nobody's business.

The boys brought out the water guns; dart guns and swords and had a blast chasing each other:

Kyler chasing after two of the bigger boys (he looks so tiny here):

Kyler found a stick to be his weapon of choice, haha:

Kyler stealing some Uncle Kevin time:

I think Kyler is on a CapriSun high here HA!:

Blowing out his candles..ugh 9 already!!:

Kyler supervising to make sure all the candles were out!:

Well...he didn't have a problem with the cake!:

Oh yeah, he had to be changed after cake time:

There are 2 kids missing in this picture...but look at my lil man hanging with the best of them:

LEGOS!!:

Kyler got soo excited when Nicholas started throwing the tissue paper in the air:

Then they decided to cover the birthday boy and he was having a blast!:

Playing some soccer (Mr. Larry would be so proud!):

I see a lot of Kyler in his big cousin Nicholas...and that scares me because Nicholas is a dare-devil..afraid of Nothing! But look how handsome he is:

Kyler "rocka-rocka" himself:

Having some Daddy time since he didn't get to see him much this weekend:

All that partying and no nap...wore him OUT!:

Today Kyler and I were painting while Daddy worked on the garage:

I know the rain will wash this paint off, so I had to make sure I captured his hand prints:

We had a great day of grocery shopping, bike riding, swinging, painting, cooking and just having Mommy / Son time. I LOVE days like this.
