I'm A Big Boy Now!

Our "baby" is growing up..

Last night while I was drawing up Kyler's bath water, he came running into the bathroom with just his diaper on. He then went over to his potty chair and sat down. Still with his diaper on, but he went poop! (I know too graphic), but I'm telling you as I was really proud of him that he would do this All by himself. He's been standing in front of the big toilet too and I now wonder if he has been going potty (pee) while standing there. Of course, Daddy and I made a big deal of this and he was very proud of himself. So hopefully he'll continue to sit on it more and more and get the idea.

I know that it's not a "huge" deal to all, as yes, he was still in his diaper. But to me it was great as he is getting the concept of it and before too long will be in big boy pants.

A very proud Mommy moment...and yet a very sad Mommy moment as my baby is growing up!

And yes, for obvious reasons, there are not any pictures to go with this post...so I will include another cute one instead.

Isn't this just the cutest?!

The Best Lunch

Today I am at work, but I went home during my lunch break and had THE Best lunch with my lil man and hubby.

When I had first got there, hubby had just laid lil man down. But he heard me come in the door and up he was! And he was just as excited to see me as I was him. Chris had made lunch and had it ready since I'm on such a short time frame (thank you honey) and lil man decided he wanted to eat too. So the 3 of us sat down.

My sister-in-law had sent over with them a salad for me when they were visiting this morning. So I had that too. And my lil man is defantely his mommy's boy...as he wanted my salad and would reach for it everytime he took a bit wanting another one. So we shared and giggled and laughed and played. It was such a wonderful lunch.

Kyler eating my (our) salad:

When I was done eating and ready to head back for work, I walked over to give lil man a kiss and he was still giggeling and gave a food face filled kiss back. THEN...I blew him a kiss and without missing a beat, he blew me one right back. Then he kept flirting with his Mommy and blowing them as I made a big deal with him over being so good about me leaving and him giving the best kisses.

This is Kyler and his big cousins Z and N earlier this morning. My sister-in-law walked into the room and found the 3 boys sitting this way on their own...reading books! yeaaah~~ smart boys!:

After they were done reading, they colored:

I love that they were playing so well together. I wish I had been there to see them...but she does really good at keeping me in the loop.. she rocks! Thank you Sherry.

Z and N like to wrestle and Kyler has now developed the love to pin N down. Kyler lays across N and we count 1, 2, 3 while slapping the bed and N is down for the count. The older boys can get rough, but Kyler doesn't let that stop him..he's one of the guys and I love that and they are really good with him, especially Z. (thank you)

I think this afternoon after nap time, they are all going to the park. I look forward to seeing those pictures as well. (hint-hint) hahaha

I hope everyone is having a Great weekend!

Thanksgiving Birthday

~~This post is a day late....

Today is Thanksgiving. I have so much to be Thankful for...my miracle son Kyler, my Family, my Friends, our house, vehicles and jobs...just to name a few. I could go on for hours.

This year to celebrate, we went to our family store. My great great grandfather, Ted Smallwood, opened the Smallwood Trading Post in Chokoloskee as a trading store with the Indians in the early 1900's. To learn more about him and Chief Charlie Tigertail go here: www.florida-everglades.com/chokol/smallw.htm

For years our family has gotten together and had Thanksgiving underneath the store. I love when we do this. We used to do it every 5 years, but hopefully we'll start to do it more.

A side view of the store:

A front view of the store:

Sadly this year we didn't get to go thru the store. But it is a great place to just feel the history and learn all sorts of great and interesting things. There's a life sized wax figure of my great great grandfather in there plus a lot of the original items that were to be sold in the store (I love that).

At the foot of the store:

~~ And it was my birthday!

My Wonderful birthday gift from my Mommy, Papa Pat, my Grandma, Chris and Kyler:

The beautiful bouquet my son and mommy picked for me:

I love these next two pictures of Gramma and her Gran-man:

While we were taking a walk, Kyler fell asleep in the wagon:

I LOVE this house...one day when I hit the lottery, I will buy this house and move it. The picture doesn't do the color of it any justice. It's so pretty. It's now a realty company:

For dinner, we went to my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws house for dinner. She cooked an amazing feast! Thank you Sherry!:

My Mommy stayed the night with us and this morning we got up and went shopping on Black Friday.

Kyler is all about his Gramma and didn't want her to get ready without his help. He was knocking on the door:

Here he was trying to crawl thru the cat door:

While we were out shopping, I put this hat on Kyler. I know later in life he will kill me for posting this, but it's too cute:

And shortly after, he zonked out on us:

He was such a good shopper. When we were done shopping, we came home and played on the swing set and in the sandbox for a while.

Kyler's Hospital Adventures

Well, our family had been hit by a NAAAASTY less than 24 hour (each) flu bug. So there has been a delay in my blogging as two of us have been in the hospital.

Friday night, after a whole day of vomiting and diarrhea, Chris and I took Kyler into the ER.

Ky in the waiting area:

Him in the back of the ER after just getting into his gown...or "dress" as Daddy called it:

He was so good getting his IV. He cried a little while getting it but as soon as they wrapped it up neatly he was good with it.

They kept him for 9 hours when they ran his blood work the 2nd time, they said that since his levels dropped so they were going to send us to a local children's hospital.

Chris went home to get some sleep around 2:30 AM, as I knew I was going to need his help the next day. And at 4:00 AM the ambulance came to take us over. Kyler and I got settled in at the children's hospital around 5:00 AM. We both went to sleep and the nurses came in at 6:30 AM to mess with him.

Ky's teddy bear that he got from the ambulance driver. He now sleeps and snuggles with it all the time:

Since we came in the back doors and it was at 4AM, I had noo clue that we were in the Pediatric ICU ward until my Mom got there and asked me about it. After learning that, I scared me, as I hadn't seen a doctor yet and didn't know what was going on with my son. That was a little nerve racking.

Ky in the crib:

He was sleeping here:

Look at his ET Toe...it was the oxygen reader thingy thing:

That morning, Aunt Sherry, Uncle Kevin, Z and N came to visit and brought me some breakfast, a soda, toothbrush / toothpaste, and deodorant...THANK YOU!! And it was Aunt Sherry's birthday..what a way to spend your birthday!

Kyler giving Aunt Sherry lovins:

Kyler hanging out with Uncle Kevin, wearing N's glasses:

Z and N brought in these adorable giraffe and horse for Kyler. Giraffe is now wearing Kyler's IV arm band protector thing:

Gramma came in to visit shortly after. Although I didn't get any pictures of Gramma and Kyler..I'm soo sorry.

Around 11-ish the doctor finally came in and said that he looked and sounded good and if he was able to eat something and keep it down, then they would probably let him go home that afternoon. So in went the graham crackers and milk and Spaghetti O's (cold might I add), as he was sleeping when the food came in. But after eating two bites, he screamed for more. AND he didn't even want the chocolate pudding or applesauce..he was hungry, he wanted Food, hot or cold. Then he went back to sleep. It wasn't long after that, the doctor came in and said that he could go home! Woot-Woot!!

The next day..BAM! Mommy got hit with it and had to go to the ER to get hydrated myself.

Then...on Monday...Daddy got it. I quarantined him into our master suite and forbade him to come out until it ran its course. I would pass him Gatorade and juice thru the door and shut it right back. I disinfected this whole house, as I DO NOT want it coming back for round two. It was brutal stuff.

So a little To Much Information, maybe. But I hear its going around.. so be careful.

~~~A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT CAME TO VISIT, IT REALLY MEANT A LOT..AND THANK YOU TO THE ONES THAT CALLED.
