A Mother's Aching Heart.....

Tonight while at work, I received a call from my husband telling me that my 15 month old son is walking around the house carrying a picture of me. My heart immediately melted. Kyler then got on the phone with me and although he wouldn't say anything, he was kissing the phone over and over again. {insert heart ache, but too adorable!}

It wasn't long after that, I took a break and went home to see him. He was so excited to see me pull in the driveway where he (and Daddy) was waiting for me. It was extremely hard for me to leave knowing that my son is missing me just as much as I miss him.

I just hope and pray that these crazy shift hours end soon...very soon so that I can be more than a "part-time Mommy" to my Lil Man.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday I picked Kyler up from daycare early to spend some Mommy / Me time. But he was just waking up when I got there and was CRABBY PATTY. Since he is all about balls and has a bunch of footballs that he can't grip just yet and small balls that just bounce, I decided it would be fun to get him a big ball to play with. So we went to Target and got him one.

We didn't stay long at the park, maybe 45 minutes, as when we first got there a few older boys were playing soccer and Kyler thought he needed to be in the middle of them playing. One boy came over and said "ma'am, I don't want to be rude or anything, but you might want to move him as we are playing soccer and I don't want him to get hit with the ball"...we'll no sooner than he got that out of his mouth, Kyelr got hit. The boy was so sweet and kept apologizing, but I assured him it wasn't his fault and that Kyler was ok and not to worry. It was really sweet and I was very impressed with his manners. I even looked for a parent to go tell them of how impressed I was, but couldn't find one that looked like they belonged to this child. Kyler was fine, but he REALLY wanted to play with the big boys and couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him over there. So he kicked and screamed bloody murder when I finally had to pick him up and carry him over to the other side of the park.

This ball is just a tad bit bigger than him, but he LOVES it!:

Yes, while we were at the park, he even swung while holding it!:

After the park, we drove by a Pumpkin Patch near our house and let Kyler pick up some pumpkins. The very first big one that he walked to, he tried to pick up. It was way too cute and I wish I had my camera or phone with me at that time, but I left them both in the car. So I went to grab my camera and got a few after shots. He didn't want to look at any other pumpkin, he just wanted that first one.

So I picked it up and gave it to the guy and said we'll take that one. I also found a box that had 2 different types of small pumpkins. Well Mr. Kyler thought he needed one of both--duh Mom, I have two hands and need one for each. HA! So we got them too.

Kyler in the pumpkin patch with his two smaller pumpkins..he looks soo tall here:

Such a big boy, helping Mommy by carrying his pumpkins to the car...still not a happy face:

Maybe I should carve this "pouty face" on the big pumpkin:

At home, we put the big pumpkin at our front door in the pot where I killed my beautiful flowers. I am soo not a green thumb:

Once we were home, Kyler thought he'd try to play a little "reverse golf--maybe"? Short club, big ball... HA!

My little monkey...monkeying around!:

After playing for a while, he worked up an appetite and went to the refrigerator and gave me this look...the Hungry Face, I'm guessing! HA:

This is the... "GIVE ME SOME" face:

And the awe... "chipmunk happy that I finally have food" face! He has a mouthful of grapes here:

So after making him a plate full of fresh fruit and cutting it up..we headed to the table for a snack:

Kyler IS his Mommy's boy.. trying to eat a pumpkin anyway he can get it! HA!:

My boy knows a pumpkin makes good stuff!:

I think he may have just ate a pineapple in the fruit bowl I made for him but this face is too cute!:

After his snack, he was all into helping me cook again. He knows where the pots are and helped himself to his pot and tried taking my spoon out of my hand, so I gave him another one. This time, I put some Mozzarella shredded cheese in his pot to "cook" and man did that make one happy little boy.

Chef Kyler:

We had some "sketti" for dinner:

Kyler was shoveling it in!:

Ok, sooo, not sure just how much he ate! HA!:

Kyler loves being silly with the paper towel roll. He plays Peek-a-boo and looks through it and also "blows a horn or trumpet" through it too which is what he is doing here:

After dinner and a bath, Kyler helped me put goodie treats together for his buddies at daycare. We love doing a little something together for each of the kids for all the holidays. He loves making them and it makes his buddies happy. I LOVE the dollar section of Target!

All 6 kids got something. The two younger kids got a Halloween bib and a rattle toy since they can't eat anything yet:

The bigger kids (including Kyler) got a packet of pretzels, a packet of goldfish crackers and a packet of Teddy Grahams, a Halloween straw, a small container of bubbles and a kaleidoscope for fun!:

I hope that you all have a safe and Happy Halloween.....stay tuned for pictures of our exciting weekend coming up!

Fifteen Months and Helping Hands

Yesterday was Kyler's 15 Month Checkup. He got 4 shots...ugh! But did pretty well with them.

He is once again, off the charts in height for his age at 34 inches tall. He is in the 50%ile for weight at 24 lbs. 8.5 oz and his head circumference is between the 75-90%ile at 48 1/4cm. Dr. said that he is "perfect" (and I agree).

The highlight of his visit for him was being able to put his very own ghost in the window. They are decorating for Halloween and every kid gets to put their name on a ghost and hang in the window. He was excited.

Tonight while I was cooking dinner, so was Kyler. He opened the cabinet and pulled out a pot and then pointed to the spoons for me to give him one.

My handsome lil chef:

After dinner and him helping load the dishwasher, I pulled out the vacuum. Kyler normally follows us around the house "inspecting" to make sure we are doing the job properly. But, tonight, he decided he wanted to do it and would scream something fierce if I would not let him do it all by himself. He actually did a really good job too.

Then after we were all done doing the chores...we made pumpkin faced sugar cookies for Kyler to take to daycare tomorrow to all of his buddies.

A short video of Kyler vacuuming. Check out how good he was doing:

Oh and I am sooo excited to say, that we have gone 2 whole days with NO BOTTLE! He hasn't even needed a sippy cup to go to bed either for the past two nights. So he gets to go to bed with freshly brushed teeth. I'm so proud of him.

Fifteen Months

Today, you are Fifteen Months old. Although I don't know how since I keep saying that I'm not allowing you to grow up or anything. But I don't think you are listening to me on that. HA!

As of today, you are getting your 14th tooth. They usually come in 2 at a time, but your bottom 1st molars are coming in at about a week apart. But you love to "brusha-brusha" your teeth. You weigh 25 lbs and don't have any problems eating anything I put in front of you.

You are learning to talk and say Momma, Dadda, Kady, doggie, Ba-Ba, juice, Bye-Bye and birds really well. You like trying to sound out anything starting with the letter "b": birds, books, boats, bugs, blocks. You are even learning that cows "moo" and horses neigh.

You absolutely LOVE taking a "mmmmmm" which is what you call a bath. You get one every night before bedtime, the I rock you to sleep.

When you hear the ABC's you get soo super excited and you love to dance while we sing and you start dancing anytime you hear music. It doesn't even matter if it's coming from one of your toys or the radio or tv.

Just today you have learned to climb on things and think you are big stuff now. You have climbed up and down your toy box in your room so you can look out the window. You also climb your rocking chair (of all things not stable) and stand or dance in it. Yes, heart attack city, here I come!

You love being silly and making faces. You are a very happy boy and very well mannered. I thank you for that.

You are the love of my life and I am so very lucky to be your Mommy. I Love you.

A Week of Birthdays and Fun

Tuesday Kyler and I went to have lunch with my Mom to celebrate her Birthday. My Grandma and Uncle were also there enjoy in the celebrating:

Mr. Handsome himself:

Mr. Handsome escorting both his Gramma and Great Grandma to their car for safety:

Then on Thursday, my nephew turned the BIG 2. We celebrated his birthday this weekend.

Here is THE Luckiest Gramma to have a Beautiful Granddaughter and Two Handsome Grandsons:

We had gotten there early to help entertain the kids and help set up for the party:

Even Mr. Bentley got to play for a bit before the guests arrived:

My sister-in-law (and her Mom) are so talented. My nephew is really into Thomas the Train right now, so they made him a Train Cake to fit the theme of Choo-Choo Cagen's Turning 2. She has made so many neat cakes along the way and I love looking forward to seeing what each theme is going to be and how the cakes will look.

The back:

The front:

The additional store bought cake...they were not having a good cake making day...so they say...and the cupcakes were gone and the other cakes didn't make it, so this was to fill the void...which turned out awesome as well:

While the kids were playing in the bounce house...the Birthday Boy got sneaky and saw something in the corner "hiding". So out of the bounce house he flew and found his birthday present from his parents:

He's all into John Deere; Thomas the Train and Toy Story...

And...Kyler has a girlfriend! I know, shocker there huh? This is McKenzie hugging Kyler. She is 10 days older than him and since they've been born (even when they were "cooking"), they have been celebrating BBugs and Buddy Roe's birthdays together:

Lil Man and Gramma just chillin':

I thought it was cute that Lil Man and Mrs. Angie were matching..uh-oh, watch out Mr. Mark:

I love this picture of Kyler and the Birthday Boy, Buddy Roe. Looks like Kyler is giving him a birthday pat (hug):

Hey BBug...That's "MY Gramma":

Look Mrs. Donna and Mr. Larry, soccer practice is paying off once again!:

Kyler and Kenzie playing with the train set (they're pretending not to notice one another, haha):

The boys having lunch together. They are too cute together:

SuperStar Birthday Boy:

Doing one of the things he does best..HA:

This is how he rolls...opening his presents while sitting on his new bike:

Some of the kids helping the presents get open:

Kyler has a Toy Story soccer ball (notice who's next to him):

Oohh, I'm telling. Caught in the action:

Buddy Roe has some serious muscles now..carrying his sleeping bag and a folding chair:

Ummm-hmmm:

Opening the gift from Gramma, Uncle Chris, Kyler and me:

It wasn't even out of the bag and he and sissy jumped on it to take off!:

Let me tell you...for those of you who have boys around the 1+ stage...this has been a huge issue at our house. My son has wanted this soo badly but we wouldn't let him play with it. Now that it was out of the bag; all hands were on by both boys and girls.

Lil Man sure does love to swing:

The Birthday Boy's Mommy and Aunt Angie were being silly:

Just like the big boys...pretending to work while up to no good:

What a sweet big cousin, pushing his little cousin around:

Two handsome boys:

Both with silly laughs:

My camera battery was starting to die, so it made some of the pictures blurry. But....

Oh so sweet. He sure does love his Ky-Ky:

They both were sharing very well and were also finding other ways to still be apart of riding it:
