Jumparoo Time

Kyler has been working at sitting up so last night I wanted to see if he would hold himself in a sitting position and.......

HE DID (sorry you get the back side of his head):

He was (pulling) sitting himself back up after falling:

Kyler has loved sitting in the saucers at Gramma's house and at daycare, so we decided to put his Jumaproo together for him. The first time he sat it in, his eyes lit up and out came nothing but coos and giggles. He had such a ball. He even bobbed his head to the beat of the music and tapped his feet along as well. I kid you not he was on beat with the music and I even took video for proof. Thank you Ms. Joan as he will get LOTS of use out of the Jumparoo.

Check out that smile:

What a happy boy, you should have heard the squeal that followed:
He even loves his bathtime:

This morning holding his own bottle:

I hope you're all enjoying this blog and being able to watch lil man grow.

2nd and 3rd Best...

Per the previous blog, I mentioned that the Pumpkin Fairy took Kyler's 1st pumpkin...THE PERFECT PUMPKIN. We didn't get a really good picture of it but if you look near the handle of the stroller between the drinks, you'll get a glimpse of it and can barley make out the stem.

Well since we've been taking our nightly walks, we decided to walk down to the pumpkin stand and see if there was another pumpkin for lil man. Not only did we end up getting him Pumpkin #2 but we also got him Pumpkin #3...and this time on the walk home, the pumpkins were inside the basket so the Pumpkin Fairy wouldn't find them.

Kyler enjoyed the walk as he always does, but crashed out before we reached the pumpkin stand and slept the whole way home. Once home, I had to take a picture of him and his 2nd and 3rd best.

2nd and 3rd Place:

Tomorrow when he is awake, we will take more pictures of him and his pumpkins. We even plan on carving them for him. Looks like it will be a Great Pumpkin turn out afterall. ;-D

Fall Festivities

This weekend started off with my baby boy turning a big 3 months old. We went and had his milestone pictures taken by JCPenney Portraits. Although he decided to smile and giggle before and after the picture shoot, but NOT during; we still managed to get some good pictures. Two of his bigger cousins Z. and N. also came along and had their pictures taken with him. They looked so handsome sitting there together. Not sure why, but the photographer only got 2 poses with the 3 of them.

On Sunday, we headed north for the annual Pumpkin Patch Festival at Hunsader Farms with Gramma; Uncle T., Aunt T., and the "C" cousins. The past few years it has gone from rainy, to sticky HOT and now windy and cold. Of all the others, we will take the cold and windy any day compared to hot and sticky or cold and rainy.

Gramma and Kyler:

BBug just HAD to dance and so Kyler and I just HAD to join her. She was doing moves I've never seen before and having such a ball with it. After dancing we went to feed the animals. The goats were loving Buddy Roe and kept licking his hands....(Buddy Roe does taste kinda sweet..that's why Aunt Sherbee loves to give him kisses!!) Then they fed the rabbits (I stayed clear so I didn't have an allergic reaction); then the chicken and peacock and BBug let out a loud scream when the horse took the food from her hand.

She was 'twirling' Kyler and me:

From there we went and let BBug and Buddy Roe ride the pony's. I wasn't standing far enough back and took off the head of the horses on some of the pictures...sorry. But the main focal was the kids enjoying their pony rides. Like Aunt T. said...Papa Pat needs some ponies at his house! Kyler slept through the pony rides and even though he is big for his age, I think he would have been too small to enjoy them.

Kyler during pony rides:

After the pony ride, BBug needed to have her face painted. She is ALL about the Florida Gators, so she chose one that had Orange and Blue. It was so cute on her. While they were standing in line to get her face painted, Gramma, Chris and I took the boys for a stroll through the arts and crafts and found BBug a purple "crown if you will" and a matching bracelet and Buddy Roe got a blanket. Kyler was too small for any of the toys they had and since he has a gazillion blankets, we didn't get him one.

We then headed over to the pumpkin patch to take some family photos and to find a pumpkin to take home. We got a couple good pictures of the family and then went to find our pumpkins. We found Kyler "THE PERFECT PUMPKIN" all around, size, shape, color, stump...It had the works. But somehow it fell off the stroller and none of us saw this happen, including me who was pushing the stroller and so the pumpkin fairy took it away. Thankfully Kyler is too young to even know so that he wasn't upset, but Mommy sure was. I wanted to have his picture taken with his very first pumpkin. Daddy said we will go to the store tonight and find him one that is 2nd best! I just wish I would have gotten a picture of it cause it really was the perfect pumpkin.

As we were getting ready to start winding down for the day, we moseyed on over to enjoy a hay ride (even though I'm allergic to hay). While standing in the long windy line, we were trying to put two boys to sleep and I played peek-a-boo with BBug. She wanted to take a ride in Kyler's stroller. Kyler went to sleep right before boarding the wagon and the hay ride put Buddy Roe out. While we were standing in line, there was an old firetruck that had a pumpkin launcher attached to it. The sirens blared and off the pumpkins went. Uncle T said it was so cool, that he needed one of those toys for his house, but the noise of the air compressor did not agree with BBug and she will NOT be having that at her house.

We went back for one more dance or two and then headed home. Chris, Kyler and I took Gramma home where we met up with Papa Pat. Kyler had to tell him all about his day. We ended the evening with dinner out and headed home. It was a great weekend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY(s)!!!

This weekend we went to visit our nephew who is turning "1"! I can't believe how the time has flown. Seems like just yesterday we were waiting anxiously for his mom and dad to call and tell us he was here. He had a rough start, but he has pulled through like the champ he is and we are very proud of him.

C. enjoying his specially made smash cake made by his mommy (she does an AWESOME job)

We also celebrated my mom's birthday since she took off to see the leaves change. We hope they are having a great time, relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

October Fun in the Sun

We started October off with a swim in the pool, BBQ'ing and hanging out with family. I don't have much to write about, but did want to share some pictures for the friends and family viewing my blog....as it's past due for some pictures for them ;-D.
I'm a bad Aunt as I somehow only managed to get two pictures of my niece, which was when she was not having a good moment..she got into Grandma's makeup. Although it was cute, she got her feelings hurt and so the pictures are of her being upset, so I wont post those. But I did get some of my nephew and Kyler playing.

Growing Up Way Too Fast

For those of you who know me, know that I've said to my sisters-in-law: "Stop letting your kids grow up, keep 'em small" and "I'm not going to let Kyler grow up fast"....well I'm coming to realize that there are some things you just can't control.

Kyler from the day he was born has held his own head with a slight bobble here or there. Well, last night my husband and I were watching Kyler play on his Baby Einstein tummy time play mat when he started getting a little cranky. So I sat him up in a sitting position and barely held my hand against his back for support while he played. My husband remembered that we had gotten a Bumbo from our nephew who outgrew it and went to the closet to pull it out. We decided, we'll give this a shot, if anything, he'll be too small for it and we'll try it again at a later date. Well...he sat in it, holding his own head, and played for a good 10 minutes before he worked up an appetite and decided dinner sounded better than playing.
He was chillin'
He was "talking" to the monkeys
Mommy was trying to get his attention and it worked!

On an older note; 4 days before Kyler turned a month old, he rolled over from his stomach to his back. It took me by surprise when it happened the first time, so I placed him back on his stomach and sure enough he did it again without any effort. He then did it again for his Gramma that following Saturday as I was running down the hall to get the video camera. Of coarse he was camera shy and wouldn't do it again until a few days later and I was ready with camera in hand. He gets a little fussy, but then he flips over. When watching the video, it takes a few minutes, so just hang in there.

Since then he scoots while on his tummy and he has now started standing. His little legs shimmied and shook the first few times, but now he does it without the shaking and he's so proud of himself. All he needs is just a little support of your hands under his arms and he'll stand with a smile. Keeping in mind, he's only 2 months old.

While Grandma and Grandpa K. were visiting last week, they watched him pick up his pacifier and put it in his mouth, twice. I personally haven't seen him do this yet, but he does work his hands a lot and he loves to lick and explore his hands with his mouth. At this point he prefers to lick (not suck) on his hands, which I say looks like he's licking a lollipop. He's not a big fan of the pacifier..just takes it when he goes down for nap time for a few quick sucks then he will take it out and chunk it across the crib, bed, room. I even found it once in the back hatch of my SUV. He loves to smile and giggle, especially at ceiling fans. Not sure why, but every one of them are funny to him. Maybe watching them makes him feel like he's on a roller coaster or something. But I love it when he laughs and smiles, his face lights up which in return is contagious and makes you do it. We are very blessed to have such a smart, happy boy.
