What a Weekend!

Friday started off with us having to put down one of our dogs, Sebastian. He was 12 1/2 years old and was suffering from a severe hip dysplasia; a 6 out of 6 graded heart murmur; and a HUGE knot on his foot that constantly bothered him as it was constantly infected and he kept bleeding all over the house and licking it. He was miserable with everything, had a really hard time walking and all, so it was time. He is now running and frolicking with my Millie girl. They are buried right next to each other in a beautiful spot in Arcadia with lots of wildlife to visit them, a beautiful shade and peace and quiet.

Now on to a brighter note; Saturday was a really AWESOME day! We started the day off by going to Myakka State Park to ride our bikes and enjoy a picnic. As we approached the very end where the boat ramp and parking lot is, we were greeted by some really huge gators.

Here are just 3 but there were around 5 or 6 gators:

We made it in, parked and had a really nice picnic. Chris paid a visit to the gift shop to buy Lil Man a hat to keep the sun out of his eyes, then we went on a long bike ride. It was great! I didn't think I was going to make it to the end (which technically was halfway if you include the travel back), but I did!! I pushed myself and really felt great that I accomplished it. We stopped at the Bird Watch Dock and let Kyler have a drink. He was so famished from all that riding and looking at nature on the way to the dock, the he just HAD to eat / drink.

After resting for a bit, we made our way back and I ended up getting a 2nd wind and really took off. The wind was blowing the breeze felt good and it was an all in all beautiful day. When we got back, we stopped for some ice cream for Mom (Gramma) and Daddy and I fed Kyler some peaches and had a soda. Then we loaded up and went back to Gramma's. As we were leaving there were about 5 deer on the side of the road.

On the way home, Kyler got to share Gramma's water....He LOVED it!

We quickly unloaded the car and got ready to go to the local fair. Kyler got to see some pigs, cows, rabbits and some noisy ducks, chickens and roosters. He wasn't sure what to think of them. He LOVED the lights of this one ride and every time we passed it, he stared at it until he was just about bent backwards from looking straight up at it. He got to go on 2 rides, a carousel and a slide. The carousel ride Gramma, Kyler and I rode twice while Daddy took our picture and stayed by the stroller.

As you can tell, I forgot to set the camera for movement. Are you dizzy yet?

Then Gramma took Kyler on his first BIG slide ride. We couldn't tell if he liked it or not. She was smiling, but he made no gesture of like or dislike.

After that we walked back towards to entrance/exit and found a duck pond and Kyler got to pick his first ducky out and won a ball!

We decided that since we weren't going to ride any rides, that we would leave and go get some real food rather than carnival food. So we went to Chili's. Again, after ALL that being carried and pushed in the stroller, got Kyler all famished, so he needed something to drink....and he got Gramma's Tea! HE LOVED IT and even tried reaching for her glass several times to do it himself. Every time she pulled it to her to drink, he watched with hopes that it would come his way.

The next day we were packing up to go home so we could clean out our garage, that for one reason or another doesn't seem to happen. It was so nice out and I wanted to ride our bikes before going home.

We went on a really nice windy ride. We get back and got everything loaded and then went to leave. As we were backing out of the driveway, we all heard this "POP" and realized that it was my back window that had just shattered!!! I freaked out since our son was in the backseat and feared that the glass had shattered all over him. So with the glass shards flying I am not taking any chances and driving the vehicle especially with him in it. We have a call in to our insurance company and are waiting for them to call with a time they are coming out to repair the window.

Our night ended with watching some football with some Brett Favre..AKA Chris' Twin:
