Strawberry Shortcake and Swimming!

I'm catching up on posting pictures I took on my camera from this weekend!

We started off by meeting up at Grandma Great's house for some swimming and eating Strawberry Shortcake! (or as my niece calls it, Strawberry Cupcake--so cute) Yummmm-ola!

After we left from swimming at Grandma Great's, we went over to let Kyler stretch his legs and get some fresh air at Gramma's house. It was nice out so we went outside to sit in the swing.

We hooked up Kyler's water mat to the water hose and let him have some fun in the sun!

I couldn't decide just which pictures to post, so I went with a majority of them..sorry!

















And since his "bangs--that is if guys get bangs" were in his right eye all the time, I asked Gramma if she would trim them. So I guess "technically" this would be his 1st hair cut...although Daddy is ready for him to get his 1st "real" haircut!





~~Oh and Yes, I saved the clippings from this hair "trim" and will save the ones from his hair "cut".

And just because I think it's sooo stinkin' cute with him feeding himself Mac 'n Cheese and it being all over his face, I had to share!




This is his "Super Food Hero to the Rescue" look that he does when he's eating and he sees me pull the camera out. Every time he does this like he's a flying super hero or something...I have NO clue where he picked it up from, but it's adorable!


And in case you missed it, I posted two more videos on the post before this one of him walking. Just last night he decided it was time to take off on his own. He would crawl up to me, get into a standing position and take off on his own! He walked from one side of his room to the other and was soo proud of himself that he wanted to do it again first thing this morning when he woke up. Oh and his 7th tooth broke through last night! His Cuspids are getting ready to break through any day now too!

Walking A New Step

Kyler and I went and saw Gramma this weekend. While we were there we got Gramma out for a little bit and went to Payless and bought Kyler his first pair of tennis shoes. He's still working on walking in them, but I put them on him to wear at daycare so he can get used to them.

After our shopping trip, we went to Papa Pat's for a ride on his Polaris (Mule). We took one "short" ride out got into the pasture and made a quick turn back as the rain was coming. We waited it out and decided to try it again once the rain had passed and we got down into the woods and saw his cows and some deer and got caught back in the rain storm. I don't have any pictures of this, but just imagine 4 soaked people. It was fun since it wasn't lightening and even though I had to get out in the cold rain to open gates and even with Kyler crying (he was not liking the rain hitting him so much).

This isn't Papa Pat's but I didn't have a recent picture of his and wanted to show you (for those of you who didn't know what it was) what we were riding on, so I Googled a picture of it for you.:


We got him changed into dry clothes, thankfully I had them in his diaper bag and we headed to Gramma's to cook some steak!

Kyler and Papa Pat playing. Kyler LOVES it when Papa Pat does 1....2....3 and throws him in the air. He will see Papa Pat and get to crawling really fast or walk towards him and start squatting like he's jumping for Papa Pat to pick him up and do it. It is too stinkin' cute!





And on Sunday, Gramma and I sat and watched Kyler as he had a blast in his water mat. He went swimming in Grandma Great's pool on Saturday and I have some pictures of that to post later. These are all pictures that were taken from my phone.

Liam J. Perk Playground

Here are some pictures of the playground where we are holding Kyler's 1st birthday party. The pavilion we rented is right there at the playground. There are lots of trees and pretty grass for running around as well.

This playground was dedicated to a local toddler boy who recently lost his life due to being bitten by the family dog in the face.

This is a merry-go-round sort of thing, it spins.. so you know I WONT be on it!:


There are big kid swings; infant / toddler swings; and a swing for handicapped children. And the big red thing has like a spiderweb climbing thingy thing in it:

Kyler decided today that he wants to take off walking and so I tried doing my best to capture it.

Fathers' Day Gift

Here is the Fathers' Day Gift that Kyler (with help from Ms. Donna) made for Daddy. She's so crafty and comes up with the neatest ideas and I LOVE them!

Taking Care of Gramma

My Mom had foot surgery this past week and Kyler and I took off on Wednesday to help out around the house and keep her company.

He was showing off and took 3 steps for her on Wednesday and 1 step on Thursday morning.

Here is Kyler making sure Gramma is doing ok:


She'll probably kill me for posting that as her hair and makeup weren't done. But I thought it was just too cute with him checking up on her.

He ended up taking a nap after all his showing off and keeping up with Gramma was exhausting.

I love that he now sleeps with his butt in the air. It's my favorite position to see babies in. He took down the other blanket and laid across it like a support pillow or something.



And yes, he's "redneck" as Daddy calls it with no shorts on. I figured he was more comfortable this way.


After his nap and seeing Papa Pat, he was raring to go! Papa Pat was throwing him up in the air and catching him and he was LOVING it!! I wish you could have heard the laughter from him. It was contagious.






~~And because what is a weekend for my son "the waterbug" without there being any type of swimming involved?! Ha!
