OK, I'm still not liking this format now and can't seem to figure it out.. (especially after being up ALL night long). But I figured it would occupy my time by attempting to upload another blog. So please just bare with me.
We were given free tickets back in December by the Adopt A Family to attend the Shriners' Circus this week. I definitely needed to get out of the house and we figured it would be something fun for Kyler to enjoy. It was on a week night which made it difficult for the boys as we didn't get home until 11:30 that night, but it was well worth it.
As we were approaching the entrance, there was this tent that had a petting zoo. Kyler went CRAZY once he saw the giraffe inside. He was off to a run to go see it. We bought him carrots to feed it. This things tongue was HUGE and purple. Kyler kept laughing because every time he would hold out the carrot this giraffe would bend its long neck down and grab it from him. It was too cute.
*** my pictures are all out of order and I can't seem to get them in order, so I will just tell you about them and you'll have to accept and enjoy them as they are...Sorry
Next we found the pony rides. There was NO stopping this kid. He found the one he wanted and climbed on board. The lady was offering him a pony in trade for his baby brother and to my surprise he actually said "NOOOOOOO" (with a cute little giggle). One of the pony pictures I actually got him saying this (evidence for later) HA!
After the pony's we started making our way into the building when we were stopped by a clown (Kyler..not such a fan of them) but the clown gave him a nose and he seemed to like that and to my surprise even wore it.
Just as we found some good seats and sat down, out came the elephant for rides. My son who I didn't think would want anything to do with it, actually cried when we told him no...they wanted $10 / person to ride this thing. We were thinking something reasonable like $5 / person. I wasn't allowed on the elephant being so hugely pregnant and all and Chris didn't want to ride it. After a major meltdown and him climbing the stairs anyway to mount this thing, I didn't have a choice but to put on my big girl panties and let him ride this thing by himself. With that, I mean without anyone he knew up there with him. Before we could even pay he was mounted and ready for his tour. Luckily there was a lady that was taking her small child on it so he wasn't completely alone up there. And how I didn't go into labor with him touring around the place I will never know. He smiled the entire time and didn't even cry when his tour was up.
We ended up losing our seats, but that's OK, we found even better ones on the front row. We had a great time. There were a few times all 3 of us were bored with the show at the same time and Kyler would lay stretched out between Chris and I but as soon as something interesting came on he was back up in his seat watching intensely.
The very last picture is my favorite picture. It was the last picture I was able to take of the night as they had a policy about video taping / taking pictures while the show was going on. As soon as the gentlemen in their kilts and bagpipes came out playing our National Anthem, Kyler stood up and placed his hand over his heart. It was a true proud Mommy moment for me and I knew then that we chose the right school for him. He sure is proud of our flag even though he is too young to know the meaning behind it, he knows it's something very special.
Maybe by my next post (I doubt it) I will have figured this new format out.
