Baby Julian Update

....For those of you keeping track and praying for Baby Julian...

I just want to say Thank you! Prayers seem to be working, so Please keep them coming. I know myself and the rest of his family are very greatful.

As of yesterday I received an email from his Grandma (Yvonne). She had to leave to come home to take care of a few things and was already missing him like crazy. I can only imagine.

She stated that he is doing really good. He was able to be fed via feeding tube through his nose on 4/25. Johanny is pumping and they have a depot at the hospital where his food is being stored.

She didn't get to witness it, but Julian opened his eyes and both Joshua and Johanny got to hold Julian and give him a bath for the first time! And he LOVED being held. (gives you chills its so exciting)

His breathing is better too. He was on 5 cc's of oxygen but is now down the 3 cc's. We're hoping for him to hit 6 pounds so he can have his major heart operation.

Yvonne (and family) would like to Thank Everyone for their continued support and prayers. Although Julian sounds great now.. he still has a LONG ways to go. Keep the prayers coming!

Prayer Request #2

Prayers seem to be working... so I'm asking you to continue with them.

Johanny got out of ICU yesterday (Happy Easter)!

Julian still has a long way to go but I feel he is a fighter. He has veins that are attached to his heart that should go to his lungs but rather are attached to his liver. Parts of his heart are in his stomach. He is a little over 3 pounds now and they are trying to get him to 6 pounds so they can operate. Julian has tubes supporting his feeding and breathing.

Just look at his dark hair! I love it! (I can't wait to get my hands on him):

I know these are trying times for the entire family. I ask that you pray for Julian, his Mom; Johanny and Dad; Joshua as they fight this battle. Please also keep his Grandma Yvonne; Grandpa Jim and Uncle Matthew in your prayers as they travel. Yvonne is currently staying at the Ronald McDonald house.

Grandma giving her baby boy some sweet "get better" sugar:

Hoppy Easter!!!!

Wow! The Easter Bunny hit our house around 3am! But Thankfully Kyler didn't know he came until around 7am.

And of coarse the First egg he found was the golden egg:

Then Daddy called him back to his room cause he missed two and Off to a bunny run he went (this one is blurry but if you look closely you can see he has his bunny basket in his hand):

On his way back through he looked down and found one in the cat door:

And when he turned around... there were more!:

With every find, he would scream louder and louder with excitment and it was too cute!:

And off to a run (blurry but you can see the huge smile on his face as he passes me in a flash)..:

.....because he spotted one in Daddy's chair:

Wow..this bunny must have dropped one.. under the horse:

Oops, he left droppings by the TV:

Wait! This one sounds like it has change in it!:

Running to two more:

Happy Hunting:

Oh-NO! There's no more!!:

Oh Wait.. maybe there is...:

This is a Very Happy Boy! I wish the lighting would have been better.. but look at that smile!:

Another one with change:

And Yes, he could care less that the golden egg had $5 in it (again).

After hunting, he went and grabbed his blankey and want Mommy to hold him and go over his loot:

Side Note: In case you haven't noticed go back and look at what hand he's grabbing the eggs with.. uh-oh that spells trouble for Mommy in the future! Guess I better start learning now... HaHaHa ;-D

SO tickled with his findings:

Yeah Candy!:

TC Week

Last week was TC Week at work.

We got to dress up for Mardi Gras:

And for sports day:

Last year I posted pictures of the group.. but to protect the "innocent" I am just posting of myself.

I also was 1 of 4 (1 person per shift) that found the "baby in the King Cake" and won a prize.. what I'm not sure yet.. but will keep you posted.

Peter Cottontail

Kyler received an Easter card in the mail yesterday and he opened it today. There was $5 in it so he ran down the hall into his room and asked for his bank. He was actually more excited when Daddy brought the spare change in from his dresser than he was about the $5..he'll learn very soon that paper money is more than change. HA!

This is him putting the $5 in:

This is him putting the change in.. can you see the smile?:

Kyler and the other kids at daycare made a THE CUTEST Easter basket (with help from Mrs. Donna) and then they went on an Easter Egg Hunt. I'm looking forward to doing this with him tomorrow before coming into work:

Post Surgery Update

We took Kyler in for his surgery on Wednesday. We had to be there at 6:00 am...for what reason I have NO clue. We got there and the office wasn't technically open yet. The office manager (or whatever her title was) didn't have the lights on, the computers weren't on, she was just making the coffee.. so after sitting there for 45 minutes while she "prepared" the office, she handed me a form and said ok I can collect your co-pay now and take a copy of your DL and Insurance Card (one of which they have copied 500 times already in two weeks).

So it comes time to take Kyler to the back in the pre-op room. I'm thinking great, now we're talking...only to have us sit in the back for another 30 minutes watching Thomas the Train to "occupy" him while we wait on both the doctor doing the surgery and the anesthesiologist. So if you know my son, he has developed a HATE for doctors offices because the last few times he's had to go to one, they have given him shots for his ears. He had to sit back there and watch every one of the nurses come in and out of the pre-op room a gazillion times while in their scrubs and hair in their surgical hat and watch them while they prepared all their instruments.

This was complete torture for him... can you tell? And they say that is a peachy / orange gown..not pink (if that makes a difference).

So by the time the doctors FINALLY made it in there, we had JUST gotten him calmed down when the anesthesiologist comes in and takes him from me. We heard him scream from our door to the OR door (directly across the hall) and he was OUT!.. Guess him taking the deeps breaths while crying helped with the mask knocking him out. Chris and I were advised to go back to the lobby and we did just a few short steps away. I went outside and called my mom to tell her he just went back. I walked back in the office and fixed myself a cup of coffee (since I am doing this off of about 2 hours of sleep since I got off of work just a few hours before) and went and sat next to Chris. I was just getting ready to take my first sip of coffee when I heard.. parents here for Kyler, come on back. It literally was so quick my head was spinning and all I could think of was oh God, what went wrong?.

We get to the back and Kyler was screaming something fierce. He did NOT like the anesthesia. He was trying to stand and climb out of the crib, but couldn't get his bearings. The nurse was trying to go over the paperwork with me and Kyler wanted me to hold him during all this time. Chris was trying to handle him and get him dressed and needed help but the nurse wanted me to complete the discharge papers instead of consuling a screaming child. The doctor didn't even come out and talk to us to tell us how everything went. It was a complete whirl wind. I am not happy with the whole outcome and will be letting them know but not until after his follow up in two weeks when I know everything is fine and he doesn't have to come back in for another surgery.

He screamed the whole way home which killed me because there was nothing I could do for him and nothing made him happy. He was just miserable. So I'm thinking between the anesthesia, the Tylenol and all that screaming /crying, he will go home and want to do nothing but sleep..HA! Yeah right. My kid was bouncing..off..the..walls the rest of the day.

I guess that is better than him being in pain. But wow! Here's a little video of him dancing:

As we were at the dinner table, he kept laying his head down. So I took him in and gave him a bath..SUCCESSFUL with no water in the ears! Then I rocked him and he was asleep in record time. He slept a full 11 hours that night. Every time I would go in and check on him, he was in the same position I laid him down in. Then when he got up the next morning he came running into our room and I could hear the pitter patters of his feet hit the wood floor. Next I heard "uhh" as he's standing there staring at me wanting me to pick him up. It was too adorable. He now runs to our room every morning for snuggle time. I LOVE it!

This morning I heard him come in but by the time I rolled over, he wasn't there. So I got up to go find him and he was laying on the dog bed with Kady. So sweet (and yes, she actually was sharing).

Another video of him dancing the day of his surgery:

I don't know why the videos are showing sideways as they were not taken sideways. Maybe it's the anesthetics. HA!

21 Months

My Lil Man is now 21 Months Old.. UGH! Really where is the time going? It's so hard to believe that in just 3 short months, he'll be a big 2 year old. I haven't even started planning his party yet.. Uh-OH.

On Friday, I took Kyler to see his first movie. I took him during the day time thinking that most people would be at work and this way if he wasn't up for the movie yet, he wouldn't ruin everyone elses. He actually did very well. When we first walked in, we were the only ones, so I sat us in the handicapped area just in case he wanted to get down and roam we would be right there. Towards the end of the movie he did just that and ran all the way down to the front and back. When he got back to me he yelled "boo". It was too cute and the other people laughed at him. There were 6 groups all together.. 3 of which were older couples there just to watch a cute movie. Once the movie was over, I apologized to everyone and let them know it was his first movie and they were all very impressed at how well he did.

This is a dark picture, but it's of him sitting like a big boy in this very own seat:

My child LOVES to find flags. He especially loves the one at Mrs. Donna's house because when I'm carrying him, it "attacks" his hair when the wind blows. He gets the biggest kick out of it...so while we were out shopping yesterday, his Daddy saw a flag and bought it for him.. big mistake.. Daddy was whopped several times in the head while driving. But look at that smile on his face:

We even had to take the flag into the next store with us and he was NOT leaving it behind. Kady is now not a fan of flags.. he thought was would be "neat" to introduce her to one and whopped her upside the head as we walked in the house. She was good and ran away from him and we let her outside to freedom!

Kyler put his own hat on... how cute:

Body Fat Melt Down.....

Back in the day I was a hottie. I also LOVED roller skating. I've been feeling BLAH lately and wanted to kick it....so I got a wild hair today and was on a mission to find roller skates. I don't like Rollerblades. I was SO good a roller skating and loved it. I wish now that my home town had a Sonic when I was growing up because I would have ROCKED serving people on my skates. They have one now..but it would have been neat back then.

Anyways...my husband and son went with me on my mission to find skates and sure enough, I found a pair. There was a more girlie pair but they were the tall boot style and I don't like that. I like my ankles having free range to move. So I bought the men's skates and well.. let's face it...black is better than the white ones especially if I fall, you wont see my battle scars on the skates. HA!

As soon as we got home, I changed clothes, laced up my skates and put Kyler in the stroller. Chris grabbed the flashlight and off we went around the neighborhood. I was so nervous that I was going to fall and take the stroller down with me but I rocked it! I did very well especially on the road that is very bumpy and uneven.

The lace up......

On the go............

Movin' out!...........

Chris and Kyler were both proud of me, but even more I was proud of myself. Something I haven't felt in a while. As I'm writing this, my body aches and it makes me want to get out and do more. So Chris and I are talking about heading to the Burnt Store / Pine Island area in the morning and him walk while I skate down the side walk pushing Kyler in the stroller in the really pretty woodsy area here.

One pooped and sore but Happy Mommy!.........

I was proud that skate #1 ended up without any broken bones or wipe outs! HA

One handsome boy wondering why we didn't go longer.....(even though we went around the whole neighborhood) HA:

Happy Birthday

Yesterday was my husbands 39th birthday! Kyler and I secretly planned on taking him to Kumo's Japanese Steak House...yummmm~ola! My brother-in-law and his family met us there to celebrate.

My new favorite picture...Kyler giving Daddy a Birthday Kiss:

At Kumo's...Kyler was SO into the chef's with their fire and steam and all together "show" they put on:

Right after this he came over and sat in my lap so he could be closer. I didn't get a lot of pictures because he was in my lap for the majority of the night. The group minus Kyler and me:

The only time Kyler wasn't in my lap was at first when the soup and salad came..he wanted to be Mr. Independent and do the soup himself (SN: they need taller high chairs, Kyler was under the table and had a hard time seeing anything or feeding himself).

Kyler doing it all by himself...he knew to blow on the soup first:

He looks terrified here...however, he was really into the chef spinning the spatulas:

Me and the Birthday Boy:

Earlier I had stopped by Publix and picked up a cake and some candles (a 3 and a 9)...while I was in the check out line, the cashier said "oh who's birthday".. I replied "my husbands"...she said "93?!"..... Are you kidding me?! I know I don't look anything like I did in my teens and early 20's but come on.

I invited Kevin and the crew to come back to the house and have some cake and let the boys play. This is us singing happy birthday:
